Default 1996 Accord LX Turbo

SO after months of waiting for school to end, and parts to come in, i am no beginning my turbo build on my f22b2. I figured maybe someone would want to see my build thread for future reference so here we go with some pictures. We haven't gotten too far yet with the build but here is where we are at. Lemme know what you think.

Bumper, airbox, and windshield fluid reservoir off

Motor mount before

Motor mount post ravaging

threw the manifold on for a quick look. the a/c line was in the way when we placed the turbo in place so i'm debating on removal or just try bending. Later today, I'll have a decision made and we'll hopefully have gotten as far as the oil pan.

test fit of mani/turbo

Day 2

Out with the old.

In with the new.

450's on the rail

Sitting nice and decently flush. Ended up using a longer lower seal to cover part of the injector that is exposed if the stock lower seals are used. I wasn't sure if it was a must that it was all covered, but i decided why not. The blue looks good and no leaks.

Day 3
Managed to get a couple things done today.

P06 ecu from our very one rhdune16.

FINALLY! The front mount intercooler is in, and it is awesome!

Bumper on temporarily, but it's looking nice. I have to remake my brackets because the ones i made were basically just quick templates even though they are holding the fmic very sturdily. Still looks awesome!

Day 4

Piping complete!

Twin Piston Forge BOV

Passenger side

Driver side

Without the bumper

Bumper without braces and painted black in the mid section lip.

Bumper and hood closed...Next come vacuum lines, downpipe, and oil lines.

Day 5

Downpipe fabbed up by my friend...we'll be doing some bungs later this week.

oil pan is off

dripping oil wooo.
Only two things done but that downpipe took a little while to figure out exactly how to bend it. the stupid a/c kept bumping into it. now i have to route the drain line weird so hopefully it flows fine.

New Downpipe and Dumptube courtesy of Dent Sport Garage.

Close to the finalized engine bay. I'm working on getting a nice blue valve cover.

the tq/hp numbers on an f23 are very similar I can assume that the f22 numbers are very much alike the f23

It's a stock f22b2 motor with a Garrett T3 Super 60. .42 compressor a/r and .63 turbine a/r. i'm curious to see what numbers i get too just cuz most f22 turbo drivers use the t3/t4's. i would assume they'd be similar or a little less but we will see once she is broken in

another turbo accord !!! in for some numbers !!!

looks as if the F22B2 manifold design has been modified since i bought mine last year. looks like SP modified the wastegate tube some, hopefully you will have more clearence for your dumptube and downpipe then i have. thats when it starts becoming a cluster F in the engine bay !

also i bent my a/c lines and it worked for a bit then i had to do some work on the car and from constantly bending it when i welded my downpie and dump, it finally had enough and broke. i think im gonna go to an a/c shop and have that hose made extra long to run it under or around the turbo setup or something other than right above the furnace !

It def wont hit the 400 mark with dsm injectors. mayber more like 300-350 range maxing the duty cycle out but never the less an Accord with some power is F-N Awesome !!!!! GL on your quest for boost ! here is my older spoolin manifold tapped with egt. notice the wastegate tube difference (and the blasted A/C line thats in the way ! )

haha thanks man. my goals aren't too high. my turbo is maxed at like 300-350 anyway. I just wanted to have some fun with this car. luckily my wastegate has cleared the hood without a mark. And i hate my a/c line. it's out of the way now but i'll be pissed when it snaps.

just wondering does anyone know if those cel foulers work? they're the ones you can screw into your o2 sensor bung and it's supposed to space out the o2 sensor and stop the cel from being thrown by the sensor after the cat. i'm thinking of using it instead of making an mil eliminator since i can't figure out which wire does what on the o2 sensor

i hate to double post...especially with a stupid question like this: Is it possible to get the CEL from the second o2 sensor to be turned off on an obd2 ecu for inpsection purposes next year? I know obd2 ecu's are not "tunable" so I don't think it would work, but i just thought i would ask.

heat wrap would help...i may do that later but right now, as long as the hot side and ac line are not touching, i'm happy. I don't know if it's such a good idea to have it heat wrapped and have the two still touching.
