A friend of mine has a 97 gst w/ a 16G turbo upgrade. He has saved up enough $ for a 20G and is
selling his old turbo. How hard would it be to put on a 2000 civic sohc? Would it work with a 98 gsr
also? Any info would be appreciated? thanx.

It will work good! My friend is using one a 1.6 SOHC vtec engine. We just used a stock 96+ DX manifold with an adaptor plate and mounted the turbo. It has not cracked in a year of running.

I think that turbo is a little small for a b18c1 but would spool really fast.

I would say you need to be pritty crafty because you will definitely need a custom manifold, you will need to run two coolant lines for the turbo sence the mitsu turbos are water cooled, some custom intercooler pipes here and there....

And thats about it

A little small? That turbo is capable of keeping DSM's in the 350hp region, I don't see how that would be "too small" by any means.

A lot of people on here are either biased or just plain don't know what they are talking about. They think a T4 is the only turbo that makes decent power and are clueless when it comes to the Mitsu turbos. Not that I'm an expert, but I was looking at using one for a long time and did my homework.

Oh really? Did you bolt the turbo / adapter below the cat or what?

Maybe you're just smarter than me, but looking at my 96 DX manifold I can't see how you can do it.

all you have to do is cut that canister off the manifold and bang! That when you get into your custom mounting on the manifold.
