Default 16g too small?

Hey guys, i've been pondering the idea of using my spare 16g i had for my gsx for a my civic, it has a '99 H22A4 in it, now i only wanna use it for about 5lbs because of the unbuilt block just for a little more pep for cheap, but some people say the gearing in the m2b4 tranny is too short and will eat the turbo alive and some say it would be just fine. I wanted to see what you guys thought about this.....??? ? ?

should be cool. The turbo wont "eat the tranny" thats for sure.

your asking if a turbo that is meant to be used on a 2l is going to be ok on a 2.2l pushing less than half the boost i did stock...

really, do you need to ask this q?

i guess i shouldve reworded it and asked if it would be efficient or not but im really just wondering because theyre not really efficient until you get past 15lbs or so, i had it at 18lbs and it was fine, 5lbs might be a different story on this turbo, ill just give it a try and if its not good enough i can always give it to my bud for an upgrade for his boosted 200sx and get something thatll suit my engine better, thnx for the info though guys

i'd say run it in 8 psi or so range cause with 5 psi you are not gona make much power with that turbo especially on 2.2l motor. And yes you will choke your motor up top probablly over 6 grand it will fall on its ***.

its the big16g so its a little bit smaller than the evo3 version but i think im just gonna get something else that will run smoother on the h-series and let my buddy have some fun with the 16g at 22lbs

It will be fine. Dont listen to half the idiots on HT. That turbo is good for more WHP than your stock H22 will be able to handle. And NO - its not going to fall on its *** past 6k. Thats just stupid.

Use it and love it - I would..

well then, ive gotten both sides here, was thinking about it during class this morning and after reading the last couple posts im just gonna use it, i figure ill get little to no lag and if i run it at low boost its not gonna die out past 6k, makes sense now that i think about it. ill keep everyone updated, once i get my tax return back im putting it all together so i can get a jump on it early this summer...

Well if you have a big 16G I would say go for it, there is no way it is going to die off.

that turbo is a really good turbo and i kinda wish i would have gone with it if i was going to stay around 350whp

i hope to go more then that when i get more time but i really love the turbo on the dsm.

you can get a 10CM housing like me and make it a super turbo.. good for 400 or so.
