1600cc injectors??
So Tony, do you never reccomend anyone to use the older style injectors (PTE, RC, etc...) on street/DD cars anymore? Can you get away with the older style injectors? any risk to engine? Is it basically bigger the injector, the more issues you will have with idle and fluxuating A/F ratios?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Of course you can still run old technology injectors. Hell, you could run a carburetor if you wanted, doesn't mean it's good at what it does. There's a reason things have gone from carbs, to old technology injectors, to new technology injectors. Just like everything else in life, fuel injector technology is ever evolving. The problem is while the OEMs were staying up on injector technology, the aftermarket hasn't been until we came along. Now all the sudden there are HUGE improvements in performance in the aftermarket with the new injectors that are out. This stuff didn't happen overnight, it's been a slow and constant progression in the OEM side of things, but a big jump and relatively new change in the aftermarket.
Yes, you can use the 160lb injectors you have, we all know that. The difference is you have a car that is horribly inconsistent, gets terrible fuel efficiency, makes less power, and a host of other possible issues. But they are cheaper!

You should be able to source a set of used ID1000s for at max 350 bucks pretty easily. If your running an oem cam you should "easily" be able to get an idle at nearly stock quality with them.
im sure there is a welder around this place somewhere... check with different motor Ts...
sense your looking for a new clutch I would look to competition clutch as my sprung Stage 5 held the power level your looking for however when it comes to a durability at this level of power/ torque your kind of at a loss so that is something to keep in mind... I have not had problems yet however its something to be weary of.
being called a devil dog is a badge of honor in my opinion. insulted by the prestigious nickname of devil dog, leatherneck, or jarhead is a lack of discipline but you were not insulted that i called you arrogant... hum... how does that make sense...

Man I'm searching like crazy and the cheapest I've found them was for like 450.I don't mind buying used either, but I don't see anybody anywhere selling a set of them
Hey redline, ive been watching ur posts on ur car man and I have to say your doing an awesome with ur build.I'd like to post pics of my build soon.although I have no pics of the initial tear down.if you guys are looking to push that amount of power from your block I should have no problem getting what I want out of mine.I don't really have the $$ for ID1600s.any input on the dry ice in the water tank?I don't see how it'd be a problem, but then again I always run into a problem.
As for the dry ice idea, I have no idea if this could work since I have never tried a water to air intercooler. The one car I have seen this done (Kaizenspeed H2B EK) Reid uses ice to keep it cool, but his is not a street car; it is only driven 1/4 mile at a time.
Keep at it man, you sound like you have a good handle on your build. I would suggest for the ID injectors, you should be happy with the results. I hope to see some numbers on your setup, keep me posted...
Bosch 1600cc's like Tony said are pretty bad at idle. One of our shop cars has them with an AEM injector driver and the A/F are still all over the place at idle.
Good thing going with the ID1000's!

Well, got em in.jus one more thing down. I'm still waiting for my aluminum water tank box.
I wonder what water/meth would do?????????hmmm.
Any ideas since I am probly one of the few thats runnin air to water daily.I no people use them for the track but why should they just be for the track cars?why can't we use the same method that cools the IATs at the track in everyday road use?well I'm gonna see how it goes.this will hopefully be my 600hp daily.water/meth??????
