Is this the same car that geoff said ran a 12.0 in a hb? You made it at ~10 psi w/ a 3" dp? Very quick.. Just curious though, is it still a street car? I'm assuming it's not any longer since it only weighs 1900lbs. Sounds like you're real close to 10's. Congrats.

-Mike
This car ran a 12.0 @ 115 a couple of weeks ago at the IDRC event here in Arizona. There was another local event held by SRD this past Saturday! Saturday night is when he ran his best 1/4 pass ever with an 11.32 @ 123. This car is a daily driver!!!!! It is gutted, but it is driven to and from work everyday! We hope to pull a 10.9-10.8 sometime next week on the bottle!

Wow, very impressive times

Are you running a stock ECU, or something else?
(if you're running a VTEC-AFC w/GSR ECU by any chance, please post your wide throttle settings)

you didnt have any trouble with the idle using the 370cc injectors with no fuel computer?? was the regulator enough to fine tune the a/f ratio?

We have the base static fuel pressure set @ 50 psi! No problems whatsoever. We do get a slight hesitation when we go into WOT right before boost kicks in, but other than that it runs perfect!

ya howd you run the 370's w/ out some sort of controller? (i always thought that 310cc injectors was the max the computer could handle) hows it idle? did u turn down the static fuel pressure real low? (what psi did u set it at?)

sorry for all the ?'s but this is very similiar to what i'll be doing to my setup.

btw got any pics?

In the post above I stated we are running our base static fuel pressure @ 50 psi. There is a slight hesitation before boost kicks in, but once it spools, it pulls hard!

I started making a webpage last night and it will be done by tonight! There will be pics up tonight. The website rite now is http://www.geocities.com/b18c1bomber/b18bomber.html

I will be placing it at http://www.b18bomber.freeservers.com/b18bomber.html
this afternoon!

Louis..arent you guys going to run into problems running 370cc injectors with a static fuel pressure of 50 PSI? Thats about twice the fuel of the stock engine...and whne not in boost (such as idling) it has to be drowning the engine.

Geoff (z10_geoff) told me that running extremly rich at idle can have bad effects on the piston rings.

Running extremely rich at any rpm can be bad.. afterburn is not cool.. heh.. it raises combustion temps like crazy leading to Detonation.

That is true, running extremely rich CAN wash the rings out, but we have ran into multipe situations. The Fuel pump is having to keep up with the 8:1 FMU and larger injectors. It is a Walbro 255 lph pump. Running a lower static pressure such as 35 psi- 42psi, we are unable to maintain consistant pressure, especially once boost comes on! Like i said before, the car idles perfect even with the larger injectors and higher fuel pressure.

We did a leakdown test to see where the motor was at interms of piston/ring wear. They were all within spec.

Any other time we would worry about running such a high static fuel pressure, but like I said, everything seems to be working just fine! So far our setup that we thought would only net us mid-high 11 second passes is knocking on the 10 second front door. As long as week keep up with routine maintance and continue to tune the car, it should be fine!

We really aren't running rich though! That is one reason why we decided to play with fuel enrichment on the dyno. The car never went lower than a 11.9-12.0 A/F ratio while on the dyno with the sniffer. We were on the verge of leaning out with anything less than 45 psi of fuel pressure.

Yea but on the dyno you did WOT runs from 2500+ Im assuming?
It doesnt show idle/no boost A/F ratios.

My car with a fuel pressure of 50 PSI and stock 240cc injectors ran rich as hell while idling. I got a S-AFC and leaned out 1000 (and under) RPMs and it was much better.

Just be careful

How is the ride with 300lb Springs in Front and 1000's in back?

I was thinking of a 600ft\900-1000Rear with an ITR Rear Sway.

How is the ride? Unbearable? Also, is this a Daily Driver, or Track Only?

How much does the high Spring Rates help your 60fts?

The car is running fine at idle! No problems whatsoever! The car isn't running rich at all! Believe me , I will change the setup if I notice anything out of the ordinary! With our leakdown tests, compression tests, and a/f ratios on the dyno, all of the data gathered has been with great results and are within spec! I have no problem pushing this motor in favor of gaining more knowlegde as to how long we can push the envelope!

I think it helps with launching the car dramatically. You don't get any squat that you would expect from a high hp FWD car! The car gets a little squirrelly on the freway at WOT at higher speeds, but it is very predictable. The car is daily driven even at this point!

Haha...getting "aggitated" Louis?
Just covering all the bases that all

Hmm..I think I need to lower my fuel pressure...its at 50 PSI with the hose attached...58 PSI with the hose un-attached.

Ya you may need to do that, 58psi seems a bit high. Have you dynoed it and seen what the a/f is at?

Yea the A/F is fine with it that high...which is why I have it that high.

It cant be good on the stock injectors/fuel pump though.
I need to turn the fuel pressure down and use the S-AFC to add fuel where needed instead.

How was the ride in the car? Around Town? Does it knock Teeth out...I was thinking of putting 1000lb GCs in the Rear of My Car...I'm trying to be out here launching like a pro, but I drive my car everyday.

I would run the 600 lb springs in the rear if you worried about street use. I run the 600 lb springs on my Sentra!

Hows the Spool handle on the Turning Aspects of the Car?

I want to run a Spool or a Quaife on an LS Trans, but I'm afraid that the Spool will be a pain in the *** to drive on...

I don't do dick for Autocross, Road Racing...This Car is totally being built as a Street\Strip Brawler. Also, a Daily Driver...I'm definately inspired by the fact that you guys made a low 11 second pass with an FMU and No Sleeves.
