10.5:1 with boost?
I tuned a Stock s2000 to ~10.5 psi running a
Vortech Charger. On pump gas. 11:1 comp stock I believe
The owner just kept installing smaller and smaller pulleys.
Using an AEM EMS. Conservative timing and fat fueling, but it runs smooth
and strong to 9K.

High compression with boost works well so long as you have the octane and tuning to support it... On a customers car a few months ago with a 2.0L B18C running 9.0:1 JE's, Eagle rods, Portflow head, Hondata, etc. we made 520whp on 20lbs. of boost with an SC63... I would expect a lot higher numbers than that with your compression at around the same boost levels... Good Luck

Thanks for the info i kinda like that info cuz it assures me something to look for when tuning and runnning my car! So what Psi is that person running on the street daily and octane wise?

We put a 19lbs. spring in his Tial gate and bump it up ONE more pound via his boost controller... That's for street driving and at the track... As for fuel he runs either a 50/50 mix of 110 and 92 or just straight 110... As of most of us do, he normally just drives on 110... It does cost a little but atleast you're sure you have your octane requirement... For you, I would recommend a boost controller which is capable of running a lighter spring (we run the Innovative Turbo MSBC and a 7lbs. gate spring) so you can turn down the boost on the street if you wanna run lower octane gas... (there's really no way around higher compression and boost levels) This particular customer that I'm talking about runs a Blitz SBC which doesn't run the lighter springs well on top but we personally won't boost over 14lbs. on straight pump gas... Just my $0.02... Peace
yeha well as street wise i was just thinking about running about 12.5psi. Its nothing big but after seeing some of the Dyno sheets hanging up here on H-T i Figuer that 12.5psi is enough we'll see. well as octane wise we have 93 and 100 at the pumps. I dont even know where to get 110 and 116, so that might be a problem. Im most def running a boost controller with a light spring just in case of anything goes wrong! knock on wood it wont happen.
I bet you would be very happy at 9lbs with a 10.5:1, decent sized turbo, and some good tuning. That would walk 95% of the cars on the road and give your passengers the "oh ****" feeling.
For a couple of months, and then you'll turn it up to a bar.

Yeha i bet i would be happy with 9psi with a SC63. Now walking 95% of the cars on the road Is scary to know and Giving my passanger the "OH ****" feeling would be Great! Then turning it up to a BAR. OK i'll just need a new set of tires every other weeks cuz I'll be smoking those things!

Oh i didnt see that he was using Eagle RODs! How are those things holding up for him? What kinda power has he put down? I just wanna hear HOW those EAGLE RODS are treating him.

Like I said, Brian's car runs Eagle rods and so does the customers that I mentioned... Brian's car on our Mustang dyno (10-15% less than a Dynojet) makes 565whp on 22lbs... He races at every local event and always messes around on the street... 500+whp cars are fun on the freeway
That's what limits us boost wise... On the other hand we have Duc's motor which is basically the same except for Crower 4340's and so far on 28lbs. we've made 619whp (it still has more tuning and I'm sure we'll get it up more)... My personal opinion is Eagle rods are fine so long as you know what your limits are... If you got the money and intend on boosting more or making more power then go with something stronger... As for the boost on the street, you'll love 12lbs till you feel high boost, hehehe... Then you'll be putting race gas in just to **** around on the freeway... Good Luck again
