E85. What would it take??
Alright, the question is simple, what would it take for our D/B/H/K engines to run on E85 ethenol gas?? Dosnt E85 allow you to raise compression, thus increase power???

E85 is higher octane than regular gasoline, so it resists detonation better just like any high-octane fuel. That said, you could run more boost, more compression and more timing to make more power on E85. Search for E85 in the forced induction forum for more info, as people have already done this.

so this would be something for racing purposes more then DD purposes. What kind of power could you make, could you make over 220whp on a SOHC N/A?

yep basically...what you could do instead of using E85 is pump 91 and use the fuel/octane boosters, some say they work haven't tried it myself though.

no...it would take a ton of octane booster to take 91 all the way to what 105(octane of e85), that is not possible.

Using e85 in our cars is more performance oriented, since it has a much higher octane and therefore is harder to result in detonation - turbo applications
You could use it, if you wanted to be "greener" but you will lose fuel economy, since it takes more fuel to use it in our engines - larger injectors, larger pump, higher pressure, and some sort of A/F computer (ie- SAFC)
