1/4 times !

1/4 times !
well I finally made it out to a test and tune .. about 30 of us when out. Well I did ok.. I was hoping for better times but as cayuga track is *** and it was very cool out, everyone had a bit of traction problem at least most of us who draged on street tires..
well a 7 psi
60' 2.394
330 6.448
1/8 9.580
mph 79.54
1000 12.244
1/4 14.462
mph 103.47
tried dumping the clutch and later tried slipping it.. but my 60' times were still a bit high
boost set at 9 psi
60' 2.297
330 6.267
1/8 9.347
mph 81.47
1000 11.904
1/4 14.141
mph 104.45
as you can see raising the boost just increased wheel spin! again I tried different launch rpm's and styles ( drop and slipping) I also played with tire pressure.. helped a bit but not much..
here is my set up 1998 acura integra rs drag III kit, tial w/g, greddy profec-b, stock internals, 1/2 tank 93 octane gas (plus octane boost) iginition set back 2 deg from stock, stock clutch, neuspeed ignition system and wires, 2.5" mandle exhaust piping and a xtec muffler (straight throught!), back seats taked out and jack and spaire tire. The car is riding on 205-50-15 yokohama A520 and rota circuit 8 wheels tire pressure was set at the following settings 30-24-20-16..
well power isn't my problem but traction is! (Oh btw I had my shift light set at 6500 rpm )
I know the car is capable of much better times but this is what I ran and I can live with it..'are these times average for this set up of I understand improving my 60' time swill put me into the 13's but are my times respectable?? or just brutal!

nice job jeff, lots of practice i guess before you hit the 13s.....i think your car can do it, just needs grip .
long time no talk man, hope everything is well....
Dang, look at those trap speeds.

Et's is not what is important. People can brag all they want about et's but your trap speeds is what is really important. Your trap speeds tells you how much power you are putting to the wheels. You have good trap speeds so you have nothing to worry about.

Re: 1/4 times ! (Arturbo)
how much was made during that pass. if it was 9psi i think the actual time could get you 13s with ease if there wastraction. You mph looks good like art says its all about the mph. I just ran 146mph but at 10.5 which i was spinning hole track. It seems the same thing happened to you.

Re: 1/4 times ! (b18bturbo)
my times were slightly better and trap speed was slightly better, going from 7 psi to 9 psi, as the track was cold I just spun more.At 7 psi my traps was 103.47 but I would barely spin changing gears.. but at 9 psi my best was 104.85 mph and excessive spin when changing into every gear. I was also shifting at 6500 rpm as try to combat this but it mite have hurt my time/traps, because if I shift at 6800-7000 wheels spin is much greater.. oh well next time I will run slicks .. now I just need recommendations for slicks, size ( tire/ rims) and pressure and launch rpm
thanks for the suport guys
