i have a 00 civic SI, 50,000 miles, 25 on boost, Drag 3 kit, boosting 7 psi, intank fuel pump.
Last night i was mashing it and the revs just dropped to 0 and died.
wouldn't start at all.
i took off the valve cover, everything is fine.
the compresion is messed up:
1-0
2-0
3-0
4-180
no coolant leak, no oil in the radiator, drained the oil-no metal. no oil leak.
is it the piston rings?
how much will the rings cost to install?
thanks

did it have absolutely no compression? or like 5 or 10 psi? did your oil pressure drop or anything? i guess your timing belt could have come off or snapped too.
completely blown out head gasket
bent valves in 3 cylinders
holes in the pistons
pull the head off is your first step...it will be obvious

I'd have to agree 100% At that boost level, stuff dies pretty fast when things go bad. If the belt slipped or broke, it could clearly have bent or broke the valves right off. Does it sound strange when you are trying to start it?

they were pulled out, how do you think i got the compression #'s ffrom

do this first and it'll save u a lot of trouble... check ur cams and timing belt, align them up so they are tdc, if it's not then ur belt slipped...
3 months ago i had the same problem as u... somehow my belt slipped 0 compression in all 4 cylinders. if it wasn;t for h-t i would have never thought about checking my timiing belt making sure it was tdc...
good luck... and let us know

If you broke something mechanical (strongly sounds like you did) do yourself a favor and when you rebuild do so with lower compression. It sounds like something failed causing the engine to detonate or preignite severly. You don't just run fine for 25,000 miles then in one pull destroy the engine. If something failed lower the compression to make the motor more tolearant to pump fuel and the many variables that street cars encounter.
Screw you guys, I'm... going... home.

Maybe you sheared off/lost the dowel pin that aligns the cam gear. That would loosen the cam gear bolt enough to let the gear just spin on the end of the still camshaft.
Yeah, lets say that the cams aren't turning.
The cams might be at a point that 3 cylinders have valves somewhat open, and the 4th cyl has its valves closed.
Or, if a cyl has it valves closed, and the piston is at TDC when you put in the tester, its going to try to suck in air than can't get past the valves, so when it comes to compress, there isn't an intage charge to compress.
Unfortunately, if the cams aren't turning for some reason, SOME of the valves would have been open, which probably meant they hit pistons and got bent...
