0-60 mph times?

0-60 mph times?
Everyone seems to talk about 1/4 mile times and horsepower, but there is no mention of 0-60 mph times. Anyone out there have this kind of data? I'm most interested in hearing about turbo cars (esp. integras).

Honestly, you can use your estamation really.
Cars that are getting mid 1/4 times are getting usually 0-60 times of high 5's.
Cars that are getting high 13's in 1/4 are getting 0-60's around low 5's.
ONce you see enough numbers, you start to get a base idea. Look at the back of a Road&Track magazine. they list current cars 1/4 times and 0-60mph times, compare the two and you can get a rough idea of what a car's 0-60 time is by their 1/4 times. That, and the other way around as well.
A rough idea.. is the keyword. But better than nothing... no more than say.. oh.. I'm usually around .2-.5 secs off actual Depends if I've been drinking or not.

I don't think 170whp will give you high 13s, especially since your 0-100kph(62mph) is in 6.45 seconds.

lol i agree...even with slicks u wont be able to grab 13's....i say for 6.45...with slicks low 14's thats if ur lucky....street tires high 14's cause ur car is heavy....

your 0-60mph is 6.45 secs... ANd you think you can hit high 13's. Not impossible, maybe with slicks, who knows, I'm pretty sure other popeol on this board can give you a more concrete idea. I really don't know... maybe you are the master of the universe.

Re: 0-60 mph times? (Snafu-Si)
Well, I had nothing better to do this morning so I just picked up my friend and a stop watch and we hit up one of the back roads here by my house. Here's the 0-60 results:
5.6 (bad wheel spin )
4.9
5.1
4.9
4.6
4.8
Dont ask me what my Quarter mile times are because I have yet to get this car to the strip since I got the bottom end bulit.

Depends who driving, and S2000 1/4 range around the low to mid 14's anyway depending on driver.

Re: 0-60 mph times? (mdpalmer)
Those of us with turbo timers (at least GReddy) actually do have the facility to time their 0-60's.
I have yet to try it, but it looks pretty interesting. It's amazing what you learn about these devices when you read the manual.

I dont think that 0-60 times can ever be accurate enough to get an idea of the performance of a car. 1/4mile times are the true testing grounds for performance in the strieght.

Re: 0-60 mph times? (96b18c1vic(T))
Yeah, I believe so. It's called "Attack" mode according my manual which I have in front of me. It'll let the user record 0-200m, 0-400m, 200-400m, 0-100km/h, 0-200km/h and 50-1000km/h . The turbo timer also has a speedometer mode, speed warning mode, stopwatch mode, battery/voltage display, and so forth. Pretty nifty.
From the manual for the "Attack Mode"...
(1) Press P+S+T to go to main Attack Mode. In the attack mode, press P+S button to go to one of the sub Attack Mode (sic). 0' 00" wil display indicating that the unit is in stand-by mode.
* When this feature is selected while the vehicle is moving, 0' 00" will flash indicating that the unit is not in stand-by mode. Always stop the vehicle before selecting this feature.
* When the unit is in stand-by mode, press the T button to start the count down start. This will not work for the 200-400m & 50-100km/h mode.
* If there are data stored in the Attack Mode memory, --- will flash. To clear the memory, hold down the T button over 5 sec. or change to different sub mode.
(2) The auto start timing is triggered by the vehicle speed sensors. The timing will start as soon as the vehicle starts to move.
(3) The recorded time will be displayed until the mode is changed or cleared.
* The restart the timing in the same mode, or to cancel the timing, hold down T button over 5 sec. to clear. Then the unit will return to stand-by mode.
---------
Not bad, methinks. Now, if only I could get my *** into gear and mount my timer in an accessible place, I might actually get to try a few of these things!

Re: 0-60 mph times? (JustAnotherHonda)
That's pretty cool, I didn't know the Greddy timers could do that. Have you done this yet? It would seem to me that you need some kind of sensor attached, then calibrate it somehow. Years ago I had a performance timer from Direct Connection (which later became Mopar Performance). If you hooked the sensors up to the front axle, it would be inaccurate because of wheelspin. We connected it to the rear, then would calibrate it using the mile markers on the highway. The more miles you go when calibrating, the more accurate the timer was. It had 0-30, 0-60, 1/4 mi times, as well as a speedometer, which came in handy because the car's speedometer only went up to 85. I know this is kind of bad, but it was also useful because this car's odometer and speedometer could be easily disconnected using a couple of wrenches under the hood. The cable was right up top. At the time Chrysler got into trouble for this because dealers would disconnect this on their demos and sell them at a higher price as low mileage cars. I did it so the warranty wouldn't expire.

Re: 0-60 mph times? (TypeR 01 886)
well.....I think that all of the different tests (1/4 mile, 0-60 mph, etc.) have some merit to the car's (the one in question) performance. It's still not to clear to me what the significance of each test means, but a 0-60 test is a way to measure the acceleration of a given car. Look at cars like vipers, vettes, m3s, whatever....and they have pretty quick 0-60 times, but their 1/4 miles seem to be slower than many of the cars on this board.....makes you think.
