**Put's flame suit on.... **
ok, my flame suit is on and im ready! Ok ive SEARCHED, but couln't find any decisive evedence! My question to all you FI gurus is this. What turbo shouild i get if i want to hit ~270whp with out falling off at red line and reaches full boost by ~3.5k RPM. Please be as specific as you can with trim and all that good stuff. I also know there are other factors that effect spool, so for the most part, ill be using a 2.5in DP with an electic cut out. Ic piping will be 2.5 from Intake to IC and 2.25 from IC to turbo. Ill be using a 38mm wg and a drag manifold, dsm bov and dsm 480's. The car is an LS so its a b18b1 with the stock ls tranny. i don't have alot of cash so GT series turbos are kinda outa the question. Im gonna have to stick with no ball bearing turbos!
thanks guys

there are alot of people (including me) using a Garrett T3 .60/.63 turbo off of a Turbo Coupe.... they can be found in good condition under $200 easily and ive seen people pushing around 320whp on a b18a/b but thats about make for this turbo spool is pretty quick also i found full boost around 4000-4200 w/ 2.5" open DP

Ive never driven a turbo car, but thats what eveyone keeps telling me. "the t3's fall off up top". I know they are cheap and i really want one, but i want something that hits boost hard and stays in it. the only turbo car i have ever ridden in that did that was a f22 with a t3/t4. when it hit full boost it sucked me back into my seat and kept me there until the guy driving let off.

I think the problem your goign to run into and your friends (sorry to say so don;t get mad) must not have paid much attenetion to the fac tthat unless you have a well build motor with nice cams, your going to fall off at the top. So with things slowing down at the top it's only nateural for the turbo to do so as well.
You need something that's goign to work for your driving type. something that spools areound 3800-4200rpm and hits full boost about 5500 or so. that woudl be a much better solution.
someone stated a t3/t4 54 trim with .63 exhaust stage3 that's going to pretty much be more turbo that your going to ever use on that stock motor. again the dropping off issues can most of the time be attributed to the stock motors or slightly modded. it takes a well designed and built motor to rev higher and hold pwoer through and beyond normal reving limits. I don;t thinkt he T3 was the issue as those small turbos woudl jsut continue to hold the spooling, what was happennign are either as i stated above, or if it was a build motor. big cams, then they were not able to feed enough volume to support the motor's flow needs with a smaller t3. the T3/t4 is a much larger unit and will support your needs to a long time.
talk to artrubo. he can get you a precision trubos double ballbearing turbo for a price not much more than a normal turbo and it's ball bearing which means it will spool even better. it will be t3 flanged so it will fit most manifolds.
hoep this helps you out some. and good luck!

too bad you won't part it out, if you did i would be all over the DP, MANI,and turbo!!! when did you reach full boost with your setup?
how many miles on the turbo?
Bump for my original question!
