***F-MAX turbo kit on turbo LS crx***
hey everyone i have found a really good deal on a fmax for a 99-00 CIVIC si brand new....i am going to put it on my LS crx, since i can get some of the piping to fit and then ill have the rest custom.....are these f-max kits good??? compared to rev hard or drag???? what kind of hp numbers and 1/4 mile times should i expect with the F-max kit with intercooler, 450cc injectors, boosting about 8-9 psi, full 2 1/2" exhaust???? i am really looking forward to getting this kit and ditching the greddy!!! i am going to be doing the vafc hack for a whle until i can get stand hondata or zdyne or somethin!

Re: ***F-MAX turbo kit on turbo LS crx*** (rjardy)
pretty cheap!!!! its top secret!
but i was looking on the web site and the kits look really nice and they include a lot of stuff!!! including the boost retard control and stuff........ but i want to see if anyone had problems with leaks, bad quality....whatever problems if any they had with the kit or with install???
thanks
ohhh yah and if i hook a APEX'I V-AFC in my crx since i dont have vtec, it wont be hooked up. will this mess with the vafc??? some kind of error? and isnt the vafc the same as the Safc just with one more setting???

Re: ***F-MAX turbo kit on turbo LS crx*** (boostinb18)
the parts are quality parts, log style manifold, fmic is not as wide as the drag or revhard, but it is thicker. make sure yor ic pipes fit, mine didnt, but fmax replaced it free of charge. the closed loop downpipe design kinda sucks tho, and the dp will bolt right up to the stock cat. the dp is only 2.25" tho.
sounds like yor going to be using an fmu/inline pump setup so thats fine. if u can get a good deal on it, then by all means buy it. its a definite step up from the greddy kit.

fmax comes w/ the erl mf2 fuel system which uses 2 prethrottle injectors. if u are going to be using the inline pump/fmu setup, make sure u tell fmax NOT to weld the 2 prethrottle injector bungs on the charge pipe.

F-max is by far the best turbo "kit" on the market. use the aditional injectors supplied with the kit, sell your AFC, and put your car on the dyno. your car will run better, and make more power than any other bolt on kit around. not to mention they use quality parts...there is a lot of junk floating around and for some reason people seem to think its good stuff?

I have a 99-00 si fmax kit on my b16 rex and it's great just make sure to get reed of the mf2 controller and the extra injectors and all the little bs that is included like the retard control, get either a hondata or for know use a vortech 12.1 fmu and upgrade your fuel pump to a walbro 255. The piping will not really fit at all anywhere, so you will have custom make it. Be careful witht the bov cause it's really tall. You will have to get a new radiator I would reccommend a del sol dual core, will have to be custom but since you have the hasport mount kit it shouldn't be to bad. Other than that have fun, you will love it.

I put an F-Max kit on my SOHC 1.6L and I love it. The only thing is that it runs kinda rich. Other than that I don't have any problems. The install was pretty easy, I had to cut hole where the intake pipng goes so the i/c piping would fit. Have fun.
