re: ***The Official JRSC Thread
Thmanx here from IL4, I've got a JRSC question for the community.
I used to have one of these on my B16 sedan few years back so I know just how fun they are to have, as well as difficult to piece together when your assembling one from someone's "complete" kit.
We have a customer with a minty-minty ITR and he brought us a ITR JRSC w/ 3.8'' pulley on it. Problem is, the blower itself looks ify to me. The snout rotates nice and smooth, however some of the teflon has been blown off and it has mixed with oil vapor creating oily-metaly-teflon gunk throughout the lobes; almost looks like anti-sieze. Were recommending the blower get rebuilt and perhaps even ported (due to the CFM improvements and heat using smaller pulley)
Knowing the fact that a M62 is an M62 is an M62, I can only imaging there have to be quite a few local shops in the area that can do rebuilds and ports (aside from Endyn). ; maybe even for domestics seeing as its all the same to them.
Any recommendations for Supercharger rebuilders/porters in the GardenGrove-Orange County area?
This kit will then be powder coated and installed, so the customer is expecting some great looking and functioning work, let me know what you guys think.

endyn. stigmeir. embree. thats it
and the work can be questionable at best with a high cost
Depending on your turn around time i would be happy to do it along with the s-tube ...just send me a PM for further info
There are a few on here that can vouch for my work

re: ***The Official JRSC Thread
Well i've cracked open the blower to inspect inside. After some de greasing here are the results.
Looks like the previous owner did a port and weld job, comments on quality?
Blower exterior, you can see the previous welding/porting work here.
With the outer casing off, you can now see the inside of the port work.
Scuffing
Bad barring?
Teflon damage,scuffing
Snout
Before disassembly, the pulley spun nice and smooth, like a bowling ball.
No play on the shaft or lose ness between screw movement & pulley movement.
So I don't believe there is a need to do a complete bearing rebuild unless you guys see something I don't.
Also, any comments on the scuffage? Common and alright, or is a cause for longevity concerns.

re: ***The Official JRSC Thread
silencer port welding leaves a lot to be desired ..but what is done is done..
Rotors look good typical wear and flaking teflon ..I would just strip them and job done
( being careful to keep stripper away from gear plate bearings)
re case scoreing its normal and nothing out of the ordinary
outlet port looks like a shy attempt at it ..its mainly a clean up of the casting
inlet port same again just a clean up
the porting that has been done has made no real diffrence to the cfm flow or the timming of the ports
to allow flow and aid in lower IAT's
so the benifits would be more hand in pocket than performance
if the snout feels good n solid no freeplay in bearings just give it a propper wash
you can press out the shaft to get to the bearings better with out any damage to anything at all
The rear case bearings should be replaced as there a high wear item and
take a lot of the load from the rotors also very cheap to do

All and all it doesn't look like anything more difficult then replacing trany bearings.
I'm sure theres a DIY in this thread somewhere. Anyone got a link to a good one on M62 style bearing removal, a parts list of whats needed, or a service manual w/ tolerances and such.
Looks like this is something we could do in-house if we know the specs.

re: ***The Official JRSC Thread
all you need to know
rear bearings same as m45 m62 easy n cheap to get from ebay
supercharger oil 110ml
sealant anarobic red from permatex
case to snout bolts 15flb
to remove rear bearings press into case from outside and install from inside pressing out as the hole is a taper fit
bearing outer edge should be 1mm lower then case facing on the inside of the case ( use a lite grease to lube the bearings when pressing them in )
to remove the snout shaft for cleaning bearings press from pulley end

finish your cleaning with brake cleaner so there is no residuw as the mieral oil and cleaners dont mix well with
the organic oil the charger uses

I am consiste nt ly getting a vss error code one my b20 vtec jrsc 1989 dx civic. mechanical speed cable. (busted at the moment)
1. Will replacing the cable get rid of the code.
2. I unplugged the little blue plug on the back of my instrument cluster.. speedo = no code but will that affect my performance since the ecu is expecting a signal.
Ps. P72 obd1 ecu, hondata s200b, obd 0 car.

That weld job looks like **** and it wasn't even welded properly.
you can clearly tell someone used a mig or flux core dc welder with mild steel wire on aluminum. that's a huge no no.
also we've had horrible results with Stiegemeier. we built a lot of SVT Cobras as shop cars and customer cars. most of the ported blowers (M112) we got from them were horribly over ported or ported incorrectly. we aren't the only people that have had issues with ported blowers from them.

I always wondered how those endyne ported blowers performed...
I think I read a thread about one a while back, but can't remember if it delivered in performance.

Kamikaze has been closed for a while now, there website is still up but I believe they went out of business... The only company that sells a header like it for supercharged applications is LHT but they are very expensive.

re: ***The Official JRSC Thread
I had to rip the whole thing out again and send back to them to fix. They then charged me additional money because I was out of warranty time, but the SC sat for months before install. SO that was irritating to say the least. IF I could go back I would send my charger to MR. Grim in a heartbeat and have him service and port the thing.
I think Steigmeir is more focused to the volume of Mustang SCers they service
