Ive got a straight gsr motor w/ jrsc and b16 trans.

JR high boost crank pulley
JR 3.8 Snout

The car made around ~11lbs on the last gsr it was on with the current pulley setup. I just finished installing it in my 99coupe. I need to take one spacer out of the alt upper support bracket to line everything up, which is the only thing that I need to do before I drive this bia to my tuner.

Ill let you know after its tuned how everything goes. Im not really concerned about tirefire in 1st and second, as long as I get this thing to hook at the track.

I still wonder why I see 13 lbs as I have a stock blower( as far as I know ) with only the mvm stepper and a 3.8 blower pulley and a stock gsr crank pulley. I have the itr exhaust cam and the lht header and a homemade test pipe with a 2.5 inch exhaust piping . It reads 13.4 lbs of boost I really dont know why as I thought I should only see around 9 lbs who knows maybe the guy I bought the blower from had it ported and I didn t know it ?
will the blower keep up at 13psi? and yah thats wierd u should be at like 9lbs maybe u have a crv crank pulley?

yeah it keeps up and hell I have been puzzled by my boost numbers since I put this thing on the car and I don't have a crv crank pulley its the stock gsr crank pulley to my knowledge with a 3.8 nose pulley on the blower and the mvm stepper .The blower is freshly rebuilt with newly coated rotors about 1400 miles ago . I shouldnt have anything resrticting me either as the exhaust is pretty well opened up now with a test pipe and itr exhaust cam .I thought my numbers would be lower boost wise also . But now you have me thinking I did buy this engine used as a complete swap it was totally stock .I wonder if the origional gsr crank pulley got damaged and they put a crv on it to get it out the door ???? Can somebody tell me the differences in the two is their any way to tell by just looking or do I need to measure it ??

I like the short geared b16 tranny. I like it even better with the 4.9 final drive I have in it.

I actually had a '98 type R trans in my car but I split the case and swapped in the 97 spec 4.40 and I also put a GSR 5th gear in. I was wasting too much time shifting gears down low and with the SC I had plenty of torque to carry more gear. Plus on the highway there's nothing like a nice GSR 5th.

Cool video from our last NSX run. I was the only CRX there and take a listen at about 38 seconds in as I'm representing B series JRSC nastiness!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2WsB...layer_embedded

I miss the sound of my 98 NSX but I have to say the JRSC B series sounds so damn unique!!

My buddy has one, they sound really great but you can't hear it as much for some reason. I think the 3.0 (3.2lt) has too much displacement and it drowns out the SC. you can hear it better from inside the NSX as it's right behind the glass.

Yes, provided you port match the intake tube.

ekkilla let me know how your car runs as i am doing a simular setup.

Guys i am starting to think that a 10:1 gsr with a jrsc on 7.5 psi might not make me happy, lol. I cant afford the lht right know and dont know what to do. I just keep trying to tell myself I will love it. Not looking for a race car just a super fun dd. Just took off a 240/212 mini turbo setup due to a bad turbo and picked this up and just hope I am happy.

This is what i got.

ek hatch with a fresh rebuilt 10:1 gsr full swap
custom sri box
custom manifold with a electric dump
plan on running a ls crank for 7.5 psi till i get lht
510 injectors
will be tuning on crome

you guys think this should be strong...

Also what gains will be seen on say a lht 12psi gsr vs a lht b20 at 12psi both with 10:1. Just trying to figure out if I should try to pick up a b20 before i do the swap.

B20 vs gsr is only a matter of where it makes the power

if you're seriously in doubt about whether you will be happy with the power either way, I would say pick up a B20 bottom end, swap the gsr head on & boost that. You actually can get away with running ~10-11psi without the lht, i have a friend of mine thats been running like that for years. Just make sure you do other mods to keep engine & bay temps down. A good efficient header w thermal wrapping makes a big difference, cooling ducting/venting if necessary, an actual cai as opposed to a short ram- just make sure the tubing is large enough to not restrict the blower...

do the port work on the blower while its off too, thats what I'm doing

I've been running 7psi jrsc on the stock B16 in my 00 Si for almost 2 yrs now and I'm just starting to want a little more power. The car is definitely a blast to drive tho

I know that lht manifold is best for cooling. But has anyone tried a meth injection but like direct port like to where there is a shot for each runner.

I'm toying with a dry 25-50 shot to help cool down the IAT's until I can get the LHT. What do you guys think?

Can someone tell me how much the MVM stepper pulley is from Motorvations? Just curious before I call them this week. Not having much luck finding a used B20 crank pulley so either I go with the MVM pulley or a new OEM B20 pulley. Planning to boost 9-10psi.
