Well I really didnt see anything like this so I guess i"ll go 1st. I got this kit from ssautocrome for a buddy of mine that came down from new york for a swap. And he drove 1100+ and had no problems.

I have put 6k miles on my ebay T70 over a period of 8 months. I just bought a sc61 to replace that laggy snail.
My prelude was a highway killer with this turbo but lag on the street was almost unbearable.

i'm glad they're working for you guys, but not everyone is lucky w/ those parts. I have a buddy who bought an SSAC turbo for $50 from a guy and has been running it for 1000+ miles w/o problems. That doesn't mean i'm going to get one...i like my Garrett. I know its reliable and i've put over 15,000 miles on Garrett turbos....over 2500 on my GT32 so far w/o any problems

The reason they are hit or miss is because of the way they are made. Why do you think Borg and Garrett use manufacturers that are ISO, QS or TS certified? These processes are there to insure that each part is made perfectly. In our manufacturing plant we can't have but one out of spec part per million parts we make. Without out ISO this would never happen.
In the end you always get what you pay for.

Trial knock off wastegates work just as good as the real ones.
SSAuto Chrome tubular manifolds also work great. Just make sure there are three braces from the turbo flange to where it bolts to the head. if not weld a couple on to prevent cracking.

I love my garret t3/t4 even though im the 2nd owner, I have yet to see it smoke on me. I'm boosting 7psi externally gated with a TiAL 38mm

Ive also used glowshift gauges and they work well also.
I used a tial knock off on my first build and when i rebuilt the motor i took the gate apart and the diaphragm was ripped, Not to say that everyone will rip but i wasnt going to risk running another one on my built motor. Now i run a Synaptic wastegate, no diaphragm to rip!

yeah its hit or miss like stated, some peoples turboes take a **** in a month, some rock them for years. I think it would be fun to get one of those kits put it on a motor you dont need and find the limits of either.

Ebay is a hit or miss thing, either you get **** or your getting quality items. ive personally never ran ebay items, i spent the money and im very happy.

I run a chinese used 57 trim with .060 restrictor and a chinese wastegate.No problems so far on a dd boosted d-seires.Only knock off parts on the car.
For the people that always say the wastegates are a bad idea, im not saying run them but have you ever heard of using the boost cut feature on your ems?

I just ordered one of the OBX top mount RB26 manifolds for my GTR. 2000 bucks less than a full-race manifold, i'll replace it when I start working full time again Hard to build a car when you're spending 40-60 hours a week on school and only have 5-20 to work.

can anyone give some feedback on ebay BOVs? I'm just about ready to trade in my real greddy RS for a fake RFL, or fake RS... i dont see why not, its not a quality-demanding part (not as much as a turbo or wastegate, per se)

The knock off GReddys are the same garbage as the origional GReddys. My diaphragm ripped in my Type-S, bought an eBay knock off just for the diaphragm, a few weeks later, it ripped again. The diaphragms were made of identical construction, just a slightly different shape.
I made my own diaphragm and never had another problem.

i have a few ssac components.. ppl commonly refer to them as ebay parts, but i got them from the ssautochrome.com website.
im using the ssac manifold, i did brace it, and its been about 4000km so far with no problems.. i also bought a downpipe and full exhaust from them.. totally worth every penny.. my mechanic and every other mechanic in the complex who came in to see the install was amazed at the quality and price of the dp and exhaust saying the raw materials would have cost them what i paid for the finished product!
i also bought my intercooler off ebay, it's bar and plate, and once again the mechanic said it was at a very good price, i think i paid around 2 bills or something shipped while he woulda charged me double that. the intercooler piping was also bought off ebay but becareful with that dont buy a universal kit because you wil definately end up having to get the pipes cut to fit and it will cost u alot to have each pipe welded if its aluminium.. my mechanic sent it out to get welded and it cost me an additional 2 bills..
hmm what else.. oh ya i bought my aluminium dual thickness rad off ebay.. its was super cheap once again the mechanic did not believe how cheap because he was trying to charge me 3 times the amount.
