Default $5 boost controller question

When using the el cheapo boost controller made from a ball bearing, spring, and brass fittings screwed together, do you need to poke a small hole in the line from the boost controller to the wastegate to relieve the pressure once the controller closes?

I would think that as the spring gets hot the spring rate would go down and the wastegate would open sooner since the modulus of the spring steel decreases with increasing temperature.
