i've read ppl using fish tank check valves to bleed boost..
anybody have any pics on this setup, as to how many in series
p# what size, etc etc, what are the total costs...

what other check valves could i use?

any info apprecaited,

or should i just rather get the importparts.com missing link

use 1 valve for every 5 pounds of boost

I just use one "T" fitting. If the nipple is on I'm at 7psi. If I take it off I'm at 11psi. It works but it sucks. . .

a pal of mine is running a single honda check valve with 10psi of boost. It runs great and is the way to go from what he tells me. I will be using it.

You should run atleast 4 check valves. 2 may not be enough and your map might just read boost.

I know there are pictures out there, i just can't find them. You will need two check valves and two tees.

Plumb it like this:

manifold----tee------tee------MAP
...................|...........|
................valve.....valve

The valves should vent out to atm under boost. Basically, you are bleeding boost away so the MAP doesn't see it. If you get a CEL then add another valve. I use Tetra brand valves, they are clear with black rubber valving.

I run 3 in mine at 5lbs. It just depends on the size and quality of the valve. I got mine for $1.99 each at the local aqarium place. With 3, mine idles great, and never gets a code.

I don't have a picture, but this is about as simple of a procedure as you're ever going to do...

I just put three T's in a row in the line running from the throttle body to the Map sensor. I then put a check valve on each of the open ends of each T.

THROTTLE BODY: ---- TTT---- :MAPSENSOR
| | |
:CHECK VALVES

You want it so that the air goes out the valves and in to the open air under boost, but at vacume it can't pull air in from the open air.

DOH!!!! RGAZ posted his while I was working on mine and his is better!!

you really just need one.....like this:

TB ----Valve----map

works just like the missinglink.

then you make a bracket or something to remount the map sesor.

most of the people ive talked to are worried about these
fish ''check valves'' failing because of extreme under hood temperatures,

the brake booster has such a check valve, and its pretty
happy with under hood temps,

is my thinking in outer space, or would the valve, be adequate for this...???
feedback please, ....!!!!!

only problem is mating the tiny map hose to the massive valve...

nope, thats the one a pal of mine is using. He has not had a hitch with it. He is only using one valve also and is running approx 8-10 psi of boost.

Nah, the cheapie check valves cannot handle pressure. This is why everyone uses them to bleed off boost... then they only see mild vacuum.
