Default Where to source out new ecu pins.

Morning everyone,

Does anyone have part numbers for new ecu pins to make a custom wire harness.

Both types of pins as an example the pins on
A1 and the pin on A7

Thanks!

http://www.mouser.com/Interconnects/...=350&P=1z0xara
http://www.mouser.com/Interconnects/...ehb5?P=1z0xara

Anything on these pages?

Its challenging to find these things.

Thanks,
--Aaron

Xenocron.com can get them for you. Chris just sent me some last week. Give them a call

If I had to guess ordering from either of those places would most likely be more expensive then ordering from a place such as mouser electronics.

I'll give them a call/message.

I'm still looking for a part/model number for these pins.

Thanks

They are manufactured by AMP / Tyco Electronics.... unfortunately they have a rediculous minimum order quantity. Hopefully we will be stocking these though before long....

female small contact part number is 175026-1
femal large contact part number is 175061-1

not sure where you get your numbers but they are 8 and 9 cents a pin according to that website.

It's a perfect starting point for searching on other sites that have them in stock and no silly minimum order
Thanks for the info!

they only sell them as "Standard Package 30,000 " you have to buy 30,000 at a time at 8 or 9 cents lol

Mouser is awesome, i discovered that place when i was building guitars since "guitar specific" electronics seem to carry a 400% markup.

ill measure some pins when i get home and hopefully mouser will have a match.

Well, there is a place called Norvak Electronics off 217 in beaverton oregon that I generally go to for odd items such as these...

Now having a part number they will be able to order parts without the 30000 limit nonsense..

But now, I can order bran new A/B/D connectors along with pins.. so these are all good things... It seems there is a lack of info for people building custom wire harness's

I know I built one for my civic and it would be handy if someone wrote a how too.. I know there isn't hardcore wiring people out there, and most are quiet but I wish more people would dive into it and build nice/custom wire harnesses and have directions so people can do it on their own.

I know Rwire builds harnesses for them which are pretty well made "personally never held one" but seen photos and they look legit.

I like the idea of making the obd1 harness but how obd2 is setup one piece. Every sensor that goes to the ecu ran un-broken, every thing that goes from engine and ecu to car on a seperate connector and everything from the engine to the dash also in that same connector.

So effectively you will have an A/B/D connector going to the engine with the addition of another connector comming from the engine and ecu with power/vss/oil pres/ground/temp and other various items.

We plan on doing this for a friends DSM to clean up the wiring a ton, although from the research he has done, there is zero info as to how to do this.

Honda service manual shows on the last page an entire obd1 wiring diagram, along with various ways to test each sensor and showing voltages and whatnot with pin's they go to on the ecu which helps, and other wiring info.

I did this for my h22a swapped cx hatch, but I wish I would have basically ripped out 100% of the wiring in the car and started over as there is so much useless crap in my civic and Im super picky about stupid wiring in that thing.

Which is great! but these things don't exist in dsm land.

anyway!

electronic components are generally cheep, but these pins for any sort of connector which requires male/female connections are crazy! like buying pins for CPC connectors or as other people might know them as the circular millspec connectors.

femal large contact part number is 175061-1 are the correct part numbers for the obd1 female ecu pins?

Ya it sucks....the fiber termination tool from leviton i use cost over 3k....some of the crimp guns i have from panduit were over $200 each....gotta pay to play. $670 isnt so bad for a crimper...its the up front costs of buying those damn pins that sucks.

Sbk23 --

I think you are correct

http://www.onlinecomponents.com/buy/AMP-TYCO/175026-1/ <-- small pins at 13 cents each!

http://www.onlinecomponents.com/buy/AMP-TYCO/175061-1/ <-- these are another type of connector that I believe go in another honda item.. not sure what, but they do look familiar.

http://www.onlinecomponents.com/buy/AMP-TYCO/174516-7/ This appears to be obd1 connector A

I know this post is a very niche market since not a whole lot of people go to the extent of re pinning their entire car or doing something this custom, but I sure do enjoy when someone does nice wiring.

GOOD FIND MAN!!

did you happen to see the other OBD1 connectors?
sourcing them is a monumental pain in the *** and is my least favorite part of rewiring peoples cars lol

i think the minimum order at online components is 100.00. there is a surcharge of 35.00 if you don't meet the minimum or something like that. better than the 6k. to unusual71- these are the only part numbers that i had.

I think this might be a good sticky if we can find a place to order without any BS.. Again this is a niche topic here.

that isn't all that expensive... except the obd2 connector is cheaper then the obd1 connector with the addition of 40 more pins?

Slow-DC5 --- its right here..

you can by new sensors at autozone, or from honda.

I have a feeling you mean the connectors that plug into the various sensors..
Get a wire harness and snip the ends off, wash them with simple green and re-use them.. its going to cost quite a bit for them.

although you might check out tyco/delphi part Manuel's , they might have some mfg info within some of the connectors when you try and de'pin them.

I just used an H22a harness and cut all the connectors at an inch long and washed them in simple green and cleaned them with a toothbrush, that worked fine for me. and I'm super picky about wiring.

@ likwidchz thanks homie but im not talking about the actual sensors them selves ... i plan on reusing all of the sensors ... im reffering to pins that are in all the sensor plugs trynna make a harness from scratch new wire and pins etc.

many will say ask chase or rywire but the only thing they will do is sell you pins they wont tell you part numbers ...so i was wondering if any one else had this info. please help if any one does thanks !

Well, some have been listed by myself and the post before yours B18c1turboedEK.

Everyone who doesn't share is stupid when it comes to these things.. If they found them.. you will.. it just takes time.. the fact that most places sell these pins for a silly amount of money is just asking for it, when no one buys stuff from them anymore.

If you click on some of the links that B18c1turboedEK provided they appear as if they are the female small and large pins along with the A/B/D OBD1 connector plugs for that half of your project.

As for the other pins I would look here
http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/ind.../cPath/109_172 This tells you that the pins will be made by Amp/Tyco .. on a side note
DSM's use http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/ind.../cPath/109_130 Delphi / Packard.

This is a link to Delphi's parts catalog
http://delphi.com/pdf/contact/brochu...balCatalog.pdf

This is a link to Tyco's part's listing.. It's not setup the same way and doesn't have the same easy single pdf listing, or none that I can find but here it is
http://www.tycoelectronics.com/compo...E_showAll=true

I don't know of anyone buying new pin's for things like EGR/Iat/Map those types of connectors.. and I think ChaseBays uses a donated engine harness for frakensteining one together for the end customer. I don't believe they use NEW physical connectors.

Although If you find something, feel free to post it here.

Generally what a lot of people do, and by a lot I mean not a lot.. is reuse the old sensor ends, snip about an inch off clean them really well and go to town.. this is helpful since the sensors still have old wire visible which help you diagnose connector problems using the real honda service manual..... that is if you keep the same sensor end with the same sensor your connecting it too!..

This way you can still use the honda service manual for wire issues should they come up.

Hope this helps! feedback appreciated.

---Aaron

*Edit
Actually I think B18c1turboedEK provided the Sumitomo parts listed here
http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/adv...words=Sumitomo

and I just realized I typed a whole lot.

I think a company would benefit from selling a complete obd1 and 2 and whatever else wiring kit from scratch! not sure what a reasonable price would be... but wiring is expensive.
