what ecu do i need to use????
Ok this is my prob i have a 98 ej8 with a gsr auto swap yes i know its prob dumb but i am using a b18 trans i hav a p2e ecu i need to know wut ecu i need to run for motor but work on my oem harness i have tried a auto p28 and type r ecu none wont work my tranny locks up and wont allow me to move to drive but car will turn over perfect... so please let me know what ecu i can run...
The OBD2 A/T GSR used a separate TCU on a subharness and a manual P72-A13 ECU. But unless you have a knack for custom wiring, that won't happen for you. The P2P-A72 (B16A4 A/T) should get you moving at least, but it won't run that well. You can tune it with a Greddy eManage or AEM FIC, however that would cost more than a 5-speed conversion would.
ebay has tonns of p72 ecus like VI said the transmission control is not part of the ecu
get whatever the ecu matches your engine and obd2
what engine you have? jdm edm usdm? and what harness?

There is a bastard P72-900 A/T with internal OBD2 controls, but it can't be chipped and still needs to be custom wired for the fourth plug. As far as I know, nobody has ever bothered to try it so good luck finding a write-up on that.
Raverx3m i have jdm gsr with 94-97 b18 auto trans as far as i know its all gsr harness exept for ecu plugs thats stock 98 harness tranny blew on me a few days ago idk why eather...

the reverse light and auto tranny solenoid share same wire and same plug so you can use the reverse sensor plug on any harness to run the solenoid plug
