guess i could give some more info.
been a great car. been thru two wheel bearings, one front . one back. I first thought of dirty fuel filter and found the only one to be a strainer in the fuel pump? I had an extra rotor button that was noticeably longer than one i replaced. buttons seem to need to be cleaned of deposits every 20k or so...thats not it. probably time for a cap though? i did a timing belt, water pump, belts, and tensioner pulleys. about 10k ago. original looked new...

since it was in last week for clutch, Excedy HD organic kit with flywheel. $179.00 shipped to Ohio in three days from Cali. Very nice Ebay deal...local mechanic put it in as i just had elbow surgery and couldn't...

the car runs great but since i got back it abruptly chokes out at about 3800. please help! dealer wants $107.00 for diagnostic and I'm not working....
thank you,
May you prosper in health, wealth, and happiness!

Is it throwing a check engine light? It sounds like limp mode or something like that. And it is VTEC not VTECH. It's on your car

go to any parts store and have it scanned for trouble codes, it's free, and the info they give you is the info we need to even consider helping you figure it out.

got the vtec not vtech thing figured out ... thanks, my mechanic's snap on tool said "vtec system failure" and the CEL is on. I just pulled vtec solenoid and the o rings were holding very well and was sad i had upset seal. i will go have it code tested at auto zone. i was going to check for a relay or fuse that could be at fault? thanks for your help. i'll have to keep it under 3900 til then...

hi and thank you to those who tried to help. end up fan plug and vtec solenoid plug are exactly the same except color. if your fan motor is running all the time and solenoid not working then plugs are crossed...sparking up strong through redline again. mechanic did when clutch replaced...showed up in his tech pro tips..

may you all, even wise guys, prosper in Health, Wealth, and Happiness!
