Unfortunately the ECU was stolen out of my 93 civic. I need a replacement obviously. I was looking on ebay and found one that specified as follows: "THIS ENGINE COMPUTER CANNOT BE CHIPPED OR SOCKETED! THE TRACES ON THE ECU HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!" I'm not looking to chip it, but I'd really like to know what "the traces on the ecu have been modified" means. The link is below if it helps any. Thanks!

This basically means it was previously chipped and someone damaged it so now it has been "repaired". I'd suggest just finding a quality stock ECU rather than dealing with Ebay garbage...

 

Hmm... Thank you very much for the info. Right now I have a P07 in the car just to have it running and it's running horribly. I may have to get this P28 for now and sell it when I find a better one; because with the P07, I get half the gas milage I usually do and there's basically no acceleration. I'm just really sick of how the car's running now. The junkyards are always cleaned out around here and I can't find anyone else selling a P28.
