Default switching from crome to ectune

ok i have this kit and i know it works well with crome but will it work with ectune? and should i even move to ectune? i am new to the tuning but not around cars or computers so i am sure i can learn fast with the help of a few guys around here that run both crome and ectune....

i hear ectune is easier and more reliable to use than crome?

*Edit - to answer your question, Yes that ebay kit will work with eCtune.

Just an FYI- IIRC eCtune will only allow you to tune one car per registration string ($199). Each eCtune registration string is sync'd to work with only one laptop/computer and one ostrich. Therefore you or your buds would have to buy a new reg string and ostrich for every car you want to tune.

Or you could get yourself a tuners license. But even then you/your customer has to pay per tune, as I recall.

If your looking to be the lone tuning ranger and help all your buds out for cheap. Your goign to have to stick with, the not so supported, Crome Pro.

You will also require a wideband O2 sensor & controller if you don't already have one. I am going to assume that you already know that though. Where you are asking about switching from Crome to eCtune.

Yeah I have the aem wideband o2 that hooks up to my laptop and ecu. Ok so let's say ectune is much better than crome and I should tune my car with ectune and just get the free Crome to tune their car? LOL I don't mind spending the money on ectune for myself if it is worth it over Crome

I use eCtune on my own car. Then I use Crome to create base maps for others that I help get to the dyno. eCtune is the way to go.

you dont need all that to tune ectune... unless your going to do your friends cars too...

ectune is programmed directly into the moates ostrich.. it is not like crome where you can burn a chip... so you dont need 10 chips or a chip burner.. ostrich from xenocron is 175

Thanks guys so I will prob do ectune when I get back home. And I am in Lombard for dealer training.

And for the burner and such it will be good to have to do budget tunes for my next project. 91 accord stock motor at 18psi lol
