sputer ls vtec
Okai so i recently jus did ls/vtec to my 98 acura integra gs its had the b18b1 motor in it and I left the block but put a p72 head on it wit the stock intake manifold and ls wiring harness and a gold eagle kit and it was running fine perfect to be exact until about a week ago now the check engine light is popping up code 22 which is the oil sender for the vtec solenoid and it stays on for about say ten mins of driving but When i shut the car off and turn it back on its off i dont kno why i have it ran right to the ecu jumper harness and grounded right i dont kno wat could be the problem and other than that i have another problem that jus occured a couple days ago when i get on it the car seems to sputter or not want to go until is has been driven awhile than it runs fine but now when i go and get on it at first it lads and like sputters dont know wat the problem could be a newb at the ls vtec please help could really use it
What engine computer are you running ?
Try bypassing the vtps per the diagram on http://www.phearable.net/tech

sumbody at my work told me it could be a catalyac converter is that true or is he jus bsing and my check engine light is turning on because of the oil pressure switch on the vtec solenoid but weird thing is it turns off when i have driven the car for a while and shut it off and turn it back on and hard would that be causing it to bog down because of that
First off pray this isnt your case, but in my old ls/v same exact things happened. same symptoms etc.
The sputtering gets progressively worse.. (It was my first ls/v set up and daily driven) while I was trying to figure it out.
Take off your vtec selonoid and check the screen for blockage (metal, dirt etc.) and if there is metal in there, clean it and drop the oil pan!!
See metal flakes?
You have spun a rod bearing!!!!
-Like I said, I hope this isnt your case but its very very similar to what happened to me..
GOOD LUCK.

jus got done checking the vtec solenoid took it off and there was no metal specs or anything of that sort wat could it be could catalyic converter do that
If your cat converter is all burnt and heated inside, (ruined) haha then yeah it could. but... it is mostly AT IDLE only... try un bolting the cat and see if it still spurts, make sure to un do the battery or unplug ecu to clear the codes on it before trying it... but i'd still drop the pan and see if there is metal.
yea that was gonna be the last thing i did but thanks for helpin though but im gonna take the cat off see if maybe that was the problem hoping it is is there any other possiblities it might be sumthing else
