SDASH app hondata s300 for android
hey guys I just saw this advertised and thought to look at it closer. so far I am saying "its about time". as a s300 hondata user I have always wanted to have a gauge hooked up to the s300. I was wondering when someone would make this.
I have looked all over the internet for more info and there isn't too much so far from actual users. it seem to be much faster than tradition gauges that read from the obd2 port. this seems to be a huge plus.
what is it?
its a program you download into your android. the android can be your cell phone or a tablet.
it uses the live information from your ecu s300 and sends the info to your android unit via your cable you already have with a simple adapter you can get at fry's electronic or ebay.
SDash is digital customizable dashboard to display live data coming from an Hondata® s300 plug-in module.
See what your car is doing in real time using your android device, without the need of a computer!

I read that SDASH needs a cable for it to work.
when did the V3 of hondata come out? I upgraded to the V2 not that long ago.
they are super underhanded when they didn't even tell me about the newer version 3. hondata should have at least mentioned it to buyers.

@949 there are some videos on youtube that you can check out:
I saw in another thread (https://honda-tech.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=392) that @speedjunkie_g35 was going to try it.

Do you think youll one day be able to record datalogs through the app?
I think iDevices have some kinks in the Bluetooth that prohibits stuff like this. Torque is a common OBD2 Bluetooth app for stuff like this.
S300 doesn't have onboard automatic datalogging?
S300 doesn't have onboard automatic datalogging?
OBD2 apps like torque work only with the latest s300v3 board, for the v1 and v2 we're stick to the USB. IDevices do have restrictions on USB communication.

Yep, I use smanager when I have to do any datalogging. I like seeing what happens in realtime and record it for later use. The onboard function just doesnt hold enough data for me.

NICE! This answers all of my doubts on whether or not to invest in gauges for my project car. I will be downloading this app in conjunction of purchasing a tablet for a heads up display as well. THANK YOU!
Also, just downloaded the free app to try it out. Not too bad, going to connect it to S300 when the adapter comes in. Really excited for this!!
