Quick question about MBT
Hi I'm new to the Honda tuning world and I will say I have been doing my homework on tuning. My question is when looking for MBT on an engine, i.e. a force induction engine, do I add timing slowly in the boosted cells of the map thats being hit? If so, I only look at when max torque is achieved or do I look at the torque curve as a whole? If not, do I add timing in the WOT cells in full boost after pulling timing by .75* for every psi and look for MBT like that?
Thanks
Thanks
usually ill start with a conservative basemap or off a street tune. if the tq curve has bumps in it ill try and even them out first. if not then ill often adjust timing by adding usually between 1-2 degrees and see how it likes it. once it stops making tq or really sees minimal gains ill pull it back about 2 degrees. i usually do the timing thing after ensuring the afr is safe ballpark. afr may require a few small tweaks if your timing adjustments really help gain some power. this is just my method im sure there are others on here with more experience
