Just wondering if anyone could suggest some possible tuning programs that could be used pretty easily for someone trying to self teach themselves. Any suggestions are welcomed.

 

Chrome/Chrome Pro. eCtune is good, and there are a few more like neptune, hondata, etc.

 

Not only do you need the "program". You need the hardware.
What year/make/model vehicle are you trying to learn on?
What engine setup?

Your interested in the same thing yet you didn't post up any of the information that mtber requested...... The information he has requested is required to give you the best answer.

 

I'm builting a h2b motor right now but I dont plan on tuning that myself. I will probably start off with a stock jdm h22a motor with bolt ons in an eg hatch.

 

If you are trying to tune the car your self use: Hondata s300, Neptune, eCtune in an obd1 compatible ecu. These systems are more expensive then just using a traditional chipped ecu as they allow you to plug into the ecu via usb cable & tune live.

If you are going to try to stay under a budget & you are not tuning the car your self, look into using a chipped obd1 vtec ecu that can be tuned with crome, neptune or ectune.

the car is a 95 honda civic with the d15 non-vtec motor in it... it's not much for now, i know, but i still need to know what programs and hardware i should invest in now so that i will be prepared to do so when the time comes.
