P73 EDM ECU Question
I've been busy hooking up an ELM327 to my ITR. So far no luck :-(
As far as I have googled my '98 Euro ITR has a Euro type P73 ECU.
The car does not have an OBD2-connector but a 3-pin DLC connector
(or actually the call it MCIC). I can't find this connector in the service
manual (I think because I have the US edition of the manual). I think the pinout
of the connector is:
1 2 3
---------
--|__|--
Female Connector
1 - Brown/black Ground
2 - Red/White +12V
3 - Blue Data
Questions:
- Does anyone have a EDM service manual with the 3-pin connector in it ?
- I think The P73 "speaks" ISO9141 protocol, at least the US version (with
OBD2 connector) does; Can anyone confirm if my EDM P73 also "speaks"
ISO9141 (K-Line) ? (or is it Honda proprietary protocol?)
Thanks for helping out !!!

Your vehicle should have a two wire blue service connector under the dash near the ecu. Read http://www.phearable.net/tech/ for more info.
If your vehicle doesn't have a two wire blue service connector:
Simply find the service check signal pin via the diagrams on http://www.phearable.net/tech Then ground the pin with the ignition switch on & watch the check engine light flash.

Thanx for reply !!
I know I can use the check engine light but that is not what I want :-)
I want to use an ELM device so I can interface to my laptop and
log the data; Nice feature is that with the right software (pcmscan)
you can measure wheel HP ...
I will have a look at the website you mentioned; Thanx again.
Anyone else who knows about the 3-pin connector in the EDM ITR ??

I've got an ELMSCAN5 Compact USB scanner and I was wondering if I could use this to interface the OBD1 (p75 ecu) thats now connected to the OBD2a (Oddyssey 97 harness via a conversion harness) through the oBD2 diagnostic port. I know that I can use a pin but I want to beable to connect the laptop via the scanner just as you did. Did you find any solution and if so can you point me to the right direction?
Thank you
