I have a p28 converted to 5-speed... I had some of the parts to chip the ecu but im missing the IC and the Dip socket and basemap.
Since I already added the capacitors and resistors an jumped J1. IS the ECU usless until i throw a basemap on it?
THANKS AGAIN GUYS...

Thanks HRtuning
.
MY p72 runs better on my b20vtec, prolly cuz its for DOHC. I have a chip kit coming from Facetuned.com, they are burning my basemap for me. So the p28 will sit until the kit gets here.

If you have a p72 and the knock sensor is hooked up, use that till you get something better. The p28 will have less fuel & less timing, vtec x-over too low, and much lower redline.
Just make sure you check your spark plugs to see if the basemap is too lean or detonating if you plan to run it like that for a while.
