P08-Xxx
0=manual
5=auto

converting it from auto to manual is easy if you can solder well.
RP18 is on the back of the board, pull the 2.4K ohm resistor and install a 1.4k-1k ohm resistor.

brain fart, JDM ECUs are a little different than USDM ECUs
9=auto
conversion process is correct though. (converting a USDM is very different)

my god, I'm an idiot today. (hopefully just today...)

second number not the first.

first is DM
A = USDM

second is auto/manual

third is version of board

P28-A52 is out of the 94-95 SI or EX.

it doesn't matter auto or manual for P 08 ecu
as long u was using crome tune/ectune its work well on the OBD1 ECU wiring harness
data logging/launch control/boost control......
i have doing more then 50 pcs chipping P 08 its different was without knock board so u have to disable the knock sensor

000,010,001 was manual
n901,902.... was auto

chipping a p08 is a pain, u need to solder on surface mount chips and what not, not for someone w/o a steady hand and some soldering experience.

hey guys i got a p08 for my d15b (been havin it since i swapped), but after reading this, im wondering if there is a difference (surface mount chips??)
Now, im about to chip the p08 for turbo, i am still debating between hondata, and crome, or ectune, but my question....will the hondata chip kit need anything special for the p08 chipping process? What about crome or ectune??
im pretty sures its different for hondata right???
if i post a pic of the inside of the ecu will it help you guys???
Thanks!, Not tryin to jack ur thread rustyEF!

P08's are all surface mount boards. The chip itself is not.

eCtune and Crome, there is no difference as far as the chip itself (I'm not sure about hondata), but the parts to make the ECU run on the external chip are different then the USDM ECUs. (see chipping a P30, it's identical)

Icon2 help please!

Okay so I bought a daily driver project that's really kicking my *** so I'm reaching out lol. I got a 93 cb7 coupe with an h22a black top in it. Here we go...the ecu is a chipped p08 that has not yet been tuned. And someone told me that my setup is wrong because the dizzy has an external coil rather than internal. And the temp sensor on the intake is missing both screws. Now to my issues. Vtec is hand wired to the ecu it seems also... now my idle seems high and it smells like its running rich,it starts hard and sometimes when I'm accelerating my rpms lag on the tach. And occasionally my rpms will dive quickly then stay steady idle at about 1200rpms (which is where the car idles when warm) and I can't seem to hear vtec kick in and I thought it was very pronounced with an h series? What I'm shooting for is to fix these bugs at lowest price possible so any help would be great. I just want this swap done right! Thanks for any help in advance guys!
