No throttle response?
Before I say anything else, this is what's wrong with my car right now.
It's basically just TOO slow. SLOWER than a stock d16z6 should be.
Basically, my car knows one speed. When I floor it, absolutely nothing happens.
Car does not pull or anything. All that happens is the engine sounds a TINY bit louder.
I thought it was my intake..
So I also changed my metal intake into the stock economy intake and that didn't do ANYTHING.
Nothing happens when I floor it..
What could be wrong?
Something with my throttle body?
I posted this in the Civic area too..But I figured I might get more help in here. =/
The car is a 1993 Honda Civic DX with a d16z6.

from the rules:
8) BE SPECIFIC. There are many engine management systems out there that do not have universal operation. When you post a problem, or anything for that matter. LET US KNOW WHAT ENGINE MANAGEMENT YOU ARE USING.

Sorry.
I believe it is a P28 ecu, chipped and socketed.
And if you meant like VAFC or something, I don't have that sort of thing.

find someone in your area who can tune with engine management systems like Neptune, Ectune, Hondata, or Crome.
if you want power, get dyno tuned
if you want it cleaned up and get better gas mileage, get street tuned
if you want power, acceleration, good gas mileage..etc then do both street and dyno tuning.
If you have no idea what i am talking about, sell the chipped ecu and get the ecu that goes with the car.

No, I understand what you're talking about.
Sorry, I was asking a stupid question.
I don't need power, but it would be nice to be able to floor it and catch back up to traffic if I have to stop all of a sudden on the highway or just plain old normal streets.
The previous owner said it IS "street tuned", but it seems like it's eating my gas like no other.
I thought about getting a stock P28 ecu, or any other ecu that works fine with d16z6 engines.
This is my last post since I'm on a trial account..
Thank you for your help!
Hopefully I'll get it fixed. =[

I love how everyone assumes that the ecu is the problem as soon as they have a problem with their car.
Have you checked the basics. Fuel pressure, Compression, Leak Down, etc.? Is the check engine light on in your car? What "chip" is your ecu supposed to have? How long have you had the car? How long have you had the ecu? What does the car run like with a stock ecu? When did the problem occur? Did the problem occur suddenly or has the car done this as long as you have owned it?
you know all the regular stuff. answer these questions and I will try to help you out buddy.

I've checked for leaks in my intake. (Although I'll check for more..Hopefully)
I even put the stock intake back on. Fuel pressure seems good, I haven't tried compression tests yet, my CEL is not on, I don't know what chip is has, all i know is that it is a p28. =/
i've had the car only 3 days now, i guess the problem occurred when I first got it but I didn't think it was a big deal at the time.
Thanks for helping.
