I think it is the very best EMS hands down. Tons of features, and excellent price and reilability to boot. I run AEM boxes in my race cars and daily driver! Many factory based teams use them as well.

if you cant figure out an aem ems, no way in hell your gonna figure out a motec....
the aem ems is only as capable as the tuner/user.

coming from an oem ecu based platform ems (crome/hondata) when i upgraded to aem, i was stunned. so many tables. no CEL. too many buttons. but once u get to tune one, you'll get the hang of it.
i've read there are issues when using stock iginition system, thats why people switch to COP ones. but im still using original ditributor system. so i guess im pretty lucky.
i must admit aem ems is very very versitile.

I like my aem unit. As was stated earlier it is as competent as the tuner. There are a LOT of options and they can be a bit overwhelming but it is a very good system. If you have the money get it. If not I would suggest crome or perhaps ectune.

Sup Bisi? Your admin assistant called me a couple of weeks back to ask how the last tuning session went and if there was anything you guys could have done better. GREAT idea. I give you an A+ for customer satisfaction. Being proactive like that is very good way to ensure your customers come back.

I love my EMS. It's extremely flexible. I can run any mix of OBD1 and OBD2 parts, any injectors, any sensors, and just run a software wizard and it's good to go. I got it tuned professionally and have been tweaking the street tune every since. I've learned a lot and accomplished a lot. No software based on the stock ECU offered the same consistency and driveability of the EMS. The stock ECU doesn't give you nearly as much tuning resolution.
The "ignition problem" mentioned earlier is a problem with Honda's stock distributor-mounted cam and crank sensors. A very weak low voltage sensor mounted in the same place as a relatively powerful and noisy coil. The factory ECU has some kind of work around for this problem that no aftermarket ECU's have. The ability to convert to direct fire was one of the main motivations for me to get a standalone.
