My car kept rev limiting at 3500 when idling, opened up the Ecu and found this chip. Anyone know any info on it or if its worth anything? It's on a d16y8 no turbo or anything. Just got the car a few months ago.

 

The chip is an SST eprom chip.

The chip is simply a memory module that holds binary data. A picture won't tell you what is on the chip.

You need to check the malfunction indication codes if the check engine light is on.

 

If it only limits while idling, that's the 2-step programmed on the chip.

There are no check engine lights or anything on. All is good to go.
I'm just not sure if its tuned for my motor because my cam gear is set to like ~4 degrees. Is there any way to find out what's on the chip? Completely new to the whole Ecu chip thing.
2 step? I'll do some research on what that is.

I just read the chip with my mind, it looks like it's for a twin-turbo SR20DET, but the dual stage VTAK kicks super ******* hard at 14,000 RPM
