Default Need ECU help.

Ok i just got a 94 Integra LS 4dr and to make a long story short, its been converted to a 5spd by the previous owner. It has a PR4-A11 ecu in it and im pretty sure thats the wrong ECU for a 94 5spd,... do i need a P75? what was the PR4-A11 used in? is that the correct ecu in it? any help is needed... thanks.

The PR4-A11 should work just fine. You don't have to match a specific manual ECU to a manual transmission. The ECU has no outputs for a (TCU) transmission control unit like the Auto ECUs do.

The original owner probably swapped the PR4 because it was the easiest manual ECU to find. Or he had it laying around. Even though he could have kept the stock ECU and converted it to manual???? Much cheaper in the end. A PR4 works the same as a P75.

Are you having any problems with your car or are you just chasing part numbers to make sure they match?

Are you sure it's a PR4-A11 and not a A51 or A71 because the A11 indicates that it is a 5 speed ECU. Do you know if the ECU has been altered in any way.

Can you post up some pics of the ECU? External and with the cover removed.

If you're getting auto CEL's, it was probably changed to work for an automatic. OBD1 Honda ecu's can be modded to auto/manual by changing a few resistors, maybe the person thought an auto car needed it to work as an auto ecu, despite the 5-spd. I find it odd it has that ecu, since the stock P75 it had would have worked fine by changing 3-5 little resistors.

I'm using a PR4-a11 with my b18a swap and it works fine.
