a lil help please engine swap
I am currently swapping a 2008 Fit engine L13a1 I believe, into another car. I am doing this for it's physical size and weight. I don't have to cut my car to fit the engine in.
I bought a Fit that went into the ditch fast enough to write it off but the engine is unscathed. I pulled the entire harness out of the car and am now trying to decide if I keep the Honda stuff or go standalone for engine management.
I have already trimmed out most of the SRS from the harness but now I have heard that may prevent the ECU from functioning. I was hoping the car was old enough to not have that issue. I don't need power steering, brakes, ABS, running lights, P windows or locks etc,,, Is it possible to remove all this stuff and still get spark? Can I dummy these things out? Or should I go with something like a mega squirt?
Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
