Default launch control

noob at tuning. I have a couple of questions regarding launch control and full throttle launch. I have the option of launch control and full throttle launch. How does launch control work and what are the bads about it. According to what i have heard you set it at a certain rpm for a couple of seconds them you pop the clutch and the gas will go all the way. if this is tru then wouldnt that be a problem if you do not have a revlimiter set? how will full throttle launch help or interfere? Sry if im asking dumb questions but I need some knowledge about this.

First, launch control and full throttle launch are the same thing to me.. Launch control allows you to bury the gas pedal and your car stays at the right revs for launch, so you dont have to lift or modulate the throttle on launch to maintain traction.

launch control deals with 3 variables, generally. The variables are vehicle speed, RPM, and rev limit.

if the vehicle is below say, 8mph, the rev limit will be reduced to whatever you set your launch control rev point to. above 8mph, the ecu switches to its actual rev limit, or whatever you set your general rev limit to. launch control can be implemented either as a fuel cut control or an ignition cut control or both. More advanced and expensive systems tend to do both, and have finer controls relating to the variables monitored.

Launch control usually doesn't have anything to do with a clutch switch, but full throttle shifting usually does. full throttle shifting senses when the clutch is depressed via the switch, and automatically throttles down the car for a second or 2, to allow a smooth shift while still keeping the revs up.

^What he said.

I have used launch control before and I hate it unless I'm at the track. There is not need for it unless your racing.

We always rev our engines when we get to the house to let everyone know we have arrived, and encourage each other to get an exhaust system. Call us ricers, but I like being able to tell who just showed up at my house just by an exhaust note lol (I can tell all 8 hondas that frequent the house apart from each other).

Can it be push button launch control, or on demand?

I am surprised your neighbors haven't slashed all the tires yet.
