Hi, could someone help me to identify a bin file. It's for a b16 on a p28.
So far I tried to open this on Crome, Ectune and HTS. Hts says that this is an ectune file but I couldn't open it.
The only thing that I could do with it was to upload to my cobra rtp and I noticed when I turn the key to position 2, the check engine light flashes several times. The car runs great with this bin.
If someone have a clue please help. Bin on attachment.

If the CE light blinks 3 times when you put the key in ACC it's most likely an eCtune bin.
Download a free Hex Editor program from the web. Open the bin file with it and see if there is decoded text in the Character area (right side) that identifies it.

HI, yes it does flash 3 times. I tried to open on ectune build 1.3 but it throws an error and it won't open. The 32kb file resizes to a 9kb and it becomes damaged 🥲Originally Posted by 7rrivera7

Hi, yeah I remember that hts does that. I was looking on this file and it was hard to spot it. But it says at the end [™™eCt©ñÞAD_àaÿÌ]Originally Posted by tech8

problem is I can't open it on ectune, 1.3 version.
Try BMTune/HTS, they have a rom convertor that might figure it out

Thank 4 the advice. I have tried hts converter. It parses the ignition and fuel tables but the fuel is way off. The other parameters it won't convert.Originally Posted by theYBLEGAL

I would like to add to this thread an aggregation website that has quite a bit of info on why you shouldn't use "BMTune" or any of this bad actor's products: https://www.bmtune-sucks.com/
