i searched but didnt find anything directly to harnesses. therefore i was curious if there were issues, but maybe no one posted any.

Not that i'm aware of. I bought a used Boomslang jumper harness and I thought it was a piece of **** where terminal end pins go through the Female Receptable end. The Wire ends were it plugs in was heat shrinked and there was about an 1/8" of bare pin showing between the heat shrink and were the pin enters the receptacle(right behind the Female Plug). So I ordered a Rywire jumper harness thinking they'd have the Wires protected all the way to the Terminal Ends in each end of the Plugs(looked like it did in their pictures), when I recevied it, it was exactly the same. The only difference was the Rywire harness was much stiffer and the Boomslang harness had the wires lengthened in such a way so that there was a soft bend in the middle of the harness(which I really liked). So I sent back the Rywire piece and used my Boomslang Harness and the Car ran without a Problem.
I also have their bseries tuck harness and the Quality is incredible. The wires even use the original color coding. I'd say you can't go wrong with their quality. If their saying is true and they still do test every piece pin2pin then your getting a %100 guaranteed badass product!!

i ordered a harness from them to put an auto b18 in my civic, havent had any problems with it at all.
are you positive its your harness causing the problems, have you tried a different ecu to rule out a possible bad ecu

I had one of my friends order a ecu harness from them, they accidently put the wrong plugs on it, he called them up and they fixed it free and he got it back in a couple days
i had a moment to call and talked to someone there. he was not rude or anything. friendly and nice over the phone.
as it stands i have to buy a new one. im not even sure who else makes these as a plug and play harness so i am stuck with buying a new one from rywire again.
this is my daily driven car so i need this to work right away.

Connect a laptop and datalog when the problem occurs.
Most likely a corroded ground, loose pin/corroded pin.
It can't be the whole harness, that doesn't make sense at all.
Check what shows up on the logs and go from there. Don't replace the whole harness when it could be a simple fix.
Also could be you'r Eld, or a loose wire on the 12v side from the main relay, or the main relay itself.

Lol, yeah I'm the guy SlowDB7 is talking about with the RYwire harness having the wrong plugs. It was an honest mistake, they had to do the same exact setup I wanted to another person but instead of OBD2, mine, his was OBD1. They ended up sending me his, but said it wasn't a problem shipped mine the same day and I just "returned to sender" it back to them. They didn't event wait until they got the harness from me like most companies do they sent mine the same day. Got it in about 2 days.

i also dont know how to test for these things. i know its probably simple but is there a how to?
is there a shared wire with ignition equipment and something with accessories like the car stereo harness?

thanks for the link. I think my car is a little bit more moded for the traditional repair book.
I did pick up a new rywire harness and the problem is still there. I did notice that the spark plug wires are rubbing the hood liner a little. im not sure if that could be an issue.

Shouldn't matter how modded your car is, the basics are still the same, along with the problem solving. You should definitely get the hood situation fixed being that if it's rubbing it could mess up the the spark plug wire boot and cause it to spark on the wall of the spark plug tube. Eliminating all possibilities is the first step to finding the actual problem. Even little simple things like checking ground connections and wires. Good luck.
I have had quite big problems with my Ry Wire harness. I have the budget harness for a K series in a 96 Integra DC2 I have taken it to KING MOTOR SPORTS this is an elite shop That’s been doing this since the 80s. Scott and his team are extremely intelligent on these things.
And a professional shop even said that they have had problems with Ry Wire harnesses.
So it definitely is a known problem.
They told me the things to look at and I fixed those things and most of the problems went away.
The problem is Ry Wire uses extremely small wires and the wires they use are basically just aluminum clad tin wire. Not copper! This creates a major problem with injector pulsing And grounds. The only way I was able to fix some of the problem is reroute all of the grounds straight to the battery.
so I took a 12 gauge wire straight from the battery right into the ECU clip battery voltage stayed static after that.
before that it was very erratic.
There was another person I was talking to that had the same problem.
More people were coming to me with the same problem and asked me what I did to fix it.
I told them. they did the same thing and it fixed it!
so it is definitely a problem with Ry Wire harnesses, so when you buy their budget harness, you may also have problems.
As far as I know, they did not revise this. I have not called them to let them know as I’m sure they’re just gonna shun me off like everyone else does and say it’s my fault.
The problem with that is I had a professional shop originally diagnosed the problem as being the harness.
So they spent over five hours going through grounds going through everything in the car, it was not cheap!
I did the repairs myself because I simply did not believe them. I thought they were just trying to take money from me.
so I did not believe the shop! So I tried the things that they told me to do and everything worked except for my injector pulses and my ignition timing when I data log those things are so erratic you can’t even read them so the car cannot even be tuned It’s so bad.
I will reach out to them to see what they’re willing to do, but I’m not holding my breath!
but if Ry Wire owns up to it and makes good on it. I will definitely be back to give them a good glowing review.
However, at this point, I am highly skeptical.
