Currently got a b16a2 with a greddy turbo kit running the greddy e-manage. it comes pre-tuned for 6 psi now if i was to get a manual boost controller and bump it up to 8 psi will i need to get it re-tuned? talked to my local speed shop and guy was talking about a timing harness i need to get for the greddy e-manage. not looking to make huge power. 8 psi will be highest i go for now so i just need to hear it from some professionals that i'm good to go and just put the boost up.
I always suggest getting rid of the e-manage to all of my customers and just getting the car tuned on one of the many OBD1 rom editors available today. If your car is an OBD2 car then you should convert to OBD1 and get it tuned.
As tomdata said, get rid of the emanage & switch to an obd1 engine computer system such ad Hondata.

its not at all about the money. And no one is trying to sell you anything here. The truth of the matter is that e-manage does not compare to most of the obd1 rom editors out there. If you want it to be the best it can be then get rid of then follow our advice. If you want to not spend any more money then turn up the boost and retard the distributor a few degrees. Then cross your fingers and hope nothing bad happens.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

well i don't want to spend anymore money right now. i've spent enough money on the car this year. if i was to turn the boost up only 2 psi what all do i have to do? does the e-manage have to be re-tuned?
You are going to end up spending a lot more money then you want to when your emanage system tune destroys your motor due to not having proper ignition timing retard at a higher boost level etc.
Do it right or don't do it at all

anyone who actually has e-manage comment on this?
if i simply can't turn the boost up and get e-manage re-tuned what is the cheapest way to safely tune my car. also what's the max HP to run on 310 cc in jectors?

Buddy...the E-manage will be able to run your car and run it pretty decently
NOTE....the Rom editors like hondata, Crome, etc will do a far better job.
You're going to have to retune to accomodate the extra 2 psi....just get on the dyno with a decent tuner and you'll be ok. You will have to get the timing harness if you want to properly use the E-manage capabilities....other than that you'll be adjusting the distributor like someone mentioned earlier and that won't cut it very well. In your case it's easier to sell the E-manage and get the ROM editor since you don't have all the components. Either way it's your ride and your decision, but if you do decide in the future that you need more or you want a more efficient tune then SERIOUSLY look into a ROM editor.
Hope that helps

ignition and injection? i've got the timing one ordered. is that what you meant?
how hard is it to tune the e-manage? if i can i might get the software and do it myself. otherwise i gotta pay a local shop to do it for me.

sorry for the late response, the emanage is really almost no good unless you get all of it's options and unlock it. If all you have is the timing one that is the ignition harness, You should look for the injection harness as well. If your car is obd2 and you want to keep it that way get the o2 signal adapter which wires into your vtec cross over point giving a point in which to send your car into open loop at a setable RPM alowing you more freedom to tune on your own.
Tuning is isn't hard once you get started. However it's not something you can just jump into and be good to go. I would suggest a knocklite also
