Default Firmware reflashing

Hi,

I'm working on a project that requires reflashing an EPS ECU for my 2017 Acura. I modified a firmware coming from a 'calibration file' (*.rwd) corresponding to my model - I only altered one number in the firmware to remove some limitations and now want to flash it to the module. I have the j2534 interface and fresh Honda HDS & j2534 software. The software is very protective: it doesn't let me flash a firmware that has the same number that is currently in the car.
I tried modifying the calibration files database by creating a new entry along with a bunch of other tricks - nothing worked.
Does anyone have experience with that?

Thanks

Hey did you ever figure this out? I am currently in the same position. I have read online that the firmware version needs to be spoofed somehow.
