Default Electrical Short

The car is a 93 Del Sol Si 5speed.

I have a short somewhere that I cant find. About a year ago the starter shorted out and melted part of the engine harness. I replaced the engine harness. Every since then I have to pull the ECU fuse to reset the ECU before the car will start. If I didnt I could turn the car off and it wont restart and some of the sensors under the hood would hum from being energized. I have replaced all the relays including the main relay, have tried 2 or 3 engine harness's and 3 p28 ECU's(both chipped and not chipped) and a p06. I pulled the dash the other day and tried to find a short anywhere. I pulled all the AC components and everything following the wires down still cant find anything any burnt or shorted wires anywhere. I am pretty sure I have replaced the Dizzy and Alt too but not 100%(as I have replaced so much and being messing with it for so long). I have done so much trying to figure this thing out. I also would get a hum/buzz from the IAC even after the new engine harness. I did a wire tuck on the engine back and removed the o2 (have the innovate analog 0-1v wired in for stock), purge control, and a few other not needed items. I also have a drain that runs the batt down. If I remove the ecu fuse it dont drain the battery. I also have a solid CEL and if I go to check it nothing happens. With the jumper installed it stays the same. No flash or anything when hooking up the jumper. If I dont reset the ECU then the main relay wont re-energize(or unenergize). When you unhook the ecu fuse you can hear relays click. As soon as you put it back in you will here a couple click again and then the fuel pump and everything will come on.

If anyone has any ideas on what it could be please let me know. If I cant figure it out I am debating on trying to get a AEM EMS-4 stand alone. Then I wont even have to worry about it.

I have tried all the under hood fuses and nothing changed other than the ECU fuse. The engine harness was melted like that but nothing that I can find on the car side of the cannon plugs. Its ran all the way to just a inch or 2 from the cannon plugs and stopped. Everything around the radio and cig harness are fine. Nothing there. I will pull the cover around the steering column tomorrow and try those wires. I havent pulled fuse by fuse in car other than to make sure none are blown. None are. It didnt even blow any when it shorted other than the ECU fuse. For a few days afterwards it would randomly blow the ecu fuse. Then it just stopped blowing it one day.

Does anyone know if any other chassis harness will work in a Sol like the Civic or Teg?

Sounds like the ECU is damaged.

I have tried 4 ecu's both before and after chipping all did the same thing. I could put them in other cars and not have a prob at all.
