ECU SOCKETED PROBLEM , Please HELP ME OUT.

Default ECU SOCKETED PROBLEM , Please HELP ME OUT.

ok i got my p28 ecu socketed so i can runa chip with chift light and 2step,

anywase ihave a stock d16z6 basemap, and i have a d16a6block-d16z6 head all motor,

i had my old chip from original person which socketed it and chipped and worked fine, i bought a new chip from this guy looked the same, and the specs were the same just rev limit changed,and shift light and 2step and now i installed chip and my car is running on just stock base map,

NO shift light,NO 2step no higher re limit,

so even tho theres a chip its like it doesnt have it,


WHAT COULD OF BROKEN ?? OR WENT WRONG ??

i have no check enigne lights ?

Check to make sure j1 is properly jumped.

c everything has to be done right because a month back on the old chip everything was great the old chips specs worked, the new chip they guiy tested out in his car i caled him he said iys fine, i install it and bam nothing, its reading a stock d16z6 map, its like its by passing the chip ?

Did you place the chip in the socket in the proper orientation? half moon on the end of the chip goes with half moon on the board. These chips will only work in one position. but i'm pretty sure that if you put it in backwards it would through a CEL....I'm not 100% on that because I have never put a chip in backwards intentionally to find out.

If the chip is oriented right and the ECU worked before with another ROM than it must be the new ROM that was save to the Chip that is causing the problem.

Get the person that burned the ROM to the chip to do it again and make sure he removes the check sum. Ask him to reprogram all the parameters that you want including the CEL shift light, 2step and higher rev limit.

Sounds to me like a bad chip, just reburn the chip and try it again.
