Re: CROME v1.6.2 Complete User's Manual Input
Actually I'm writing the meth injection section right now, although I wouldn't suggest tuning it on the street unless you have knock ears. Keep in mind this manual is specific for how to tune in CROME, not how engines work, so if you want to know how or why meth injection or any other system works I'd suggest reading elsewhere before you start tuning.
Street tuning will also be covered in the chapter after this, and then I'll be done.
thanks for all your input guys!

Sorry for not keeping up on this guys. I'm really making a genuine effort when I can, but my spare time is damn near priceless lately. We'll talk again near the end of race season.

Crome vs Neptune. 2-3 hours with crome tuning, neptune 1-2 hours.

Re: CROME v1.6.2 Complete User's Manual Input
Your change in power is most likely due to temperature offsets, which I see often and is really the biggest flaw with Crome. The IAT and ECT scales are more conservative than they should be.
But math is math; if the inputs to an address are the same and the formula at that address is the same, the output is the same. However for 99.9% of Crome users, you've made a valid point.
I promise I'm still working on this, just hang in there guys.

After endless hours of dicking around, I have a draft of this manual.
Most of this was done in my off-time, which is usually a state of half-conscious insomnia.
Some sections are bookmarked, others are not.
This is a forum after all, please identify mistakes or missing information:
www.gravityimports.com/CROME_v1.6.x_Manual.pdf
*edit - yes, this is for version 1.6.2, because I started it that long ago. it's the same thing.

That seems to be a very comprehensive manual. I haven't had the time to read through the entire thing yet. However, so far it is A1!
You definitely took your time and made layout and design a key factor as well. It looks very clean and professionally done.

thank you sir, feel free to critique when you have time. there is also a thread on PGMFI if you'd prefer to compile information there.

Re: CROME v1.6.2 Complete User's Manual Input
Wish something like this existed for S300, I haven't had much luck searching around.
Granted, a lot of the concepts are the same, just a difference (maybe better :p ) interface.
Well done!

We'd still be cavemen if people didn't share knowledge. There was a time where I was looking for this kind of help and it wasn't around, so this is my productive vengeance.
99electron, if I didn't despise SManager I'd consider writing a manual for it, but... Neptune wins.

You did a great job on this, regardless, and the ideas will carry across brands regardless. I will just have to search through smanager for the same settings.
If anyone has a link to a good s300/smanager/tuning for noobs thread or article, please either post it or pm me a link. I'd really appreciate it, as my searches haven't returned anything appreciable.

Not to be a stickler, but setting the Baud Rate in Device manager is an unnecessary step.
Secondly, if you're using Moates hardware, or otherwise an FTDI based device, the properties of the serial port is going to look completely different than what you describe.
I still stand by the guide I wrote years ago, it is still suprisingly relevant for setting up the hardware with Crome despite the smaller form factor of the Moates devices.

I found that after setting and locking my baud rate, to the specified USB port, I had 0 issues between the ostrich and hulog upon connection. I was having all sorts of connection issues with the newest ver. of Crome Pro before using the following guide. http://www.xenocron.com/install/HowT...echArticle.htm

Re: CROME v1.6.2 Complete User's Manual Input
I'll be sure to update the section to include latency adjustment, thanks guys.
TypeGSR, I assume that's Craig, I've found Moates products do not always configure the baud automatically; Ostrich occasionally defaults to 115200 and the Hondalog defaults to 9600, so I added that to save potential aggravation.
At some point I'll add a full troubleshooting chapter, but it'll be procrastinated in the same manner. :D

In any event, I've never come across a piece of software that doesn't configure these parameters for you, or at least give you the option to set them.

Very nice guide Miles! Thanks again for reading my chip last week. I'm finishing up my low cam fuel map tonight and hopefully starting my high cam fuel.

Re: CROME v1.6.2 Complete User's Manual Input
In your manual it states that UNchecked items in the plug-ins and ROM options are enabled??? This makes no sense... SO all along I've been checking these items to disable them and I should have been doing the opposite by leaving them unchecked to disable??
"10. Sensors – many applications and/or ECUs do not have all available sensors that the P30
offers, so disabling (unchecking) those removes the Check Engine Light & resulting trouble
code and removes the input data from the ECU’s calculations. Especially for tuning, it is ideal
to remove variables such as the O2 which skews wideband readings, the Barometer which
skews the MAP sensor, and the ELD which shifts the injector pulse offset"
BTW- great manual, helps out us newbs a lot!

Re: CROME v1.6.2 Complete User's Manual Input
I see you liked my software
I should really clean it up one of these days and work through all of the bugs. I haven't touched it in a long time.
