Default cat converter

hello everyone i just recently bought 99 civic ex and wanted to know if any1 knows where i can buy a california legal cat? have a stored code p0420 need new cat for cheap

incidentally, that code doesn't mean the cat is bad. have you tried passing smog? the secondary O2 sensor might be bad.

ok so i got the cat and bought some 4-2-1 headers on craigslist. they go on right but once connecting to the cat its a lil short y is that?

Because aftermarket parts very rarely line up correctly.

Also, just because the CEL was for the CAT doesn't mean that it's the root of the problem.

You're going to fail the visual with that header unless it came with a CARB sticker.

I'm running a turbo setup, the emissions place pops my hood every time and they don't say a word.

It just depends on the location for such things. And the OP did say California so it's something to consider.

It didnt come with a carb sticker at all. Is there a way of obtaining a carb sticker? Or is it best to buy from the company and sell the ones from craigslist?
