B18B1 Timing
Hello,
I am currently swapping a b18b1 into 96 Honda EK. Everything is in and we are attempting to get it timed. The ECM is a P75 with a jumper harness. We've checked the mechanical timing on the cam marks, along with the sight hole in the cams, and the timing on the crankshaft. Everything is perfectly lined up. When we hit it with a timing light, all the way advanced on the distributor we can barely hit 0 degrees much less 16 degrees. I am at a loss on what else to try.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

If you move the advance dial to 16 and point the timing light at the crank pulley while the engine idles... you should be looking for the white TDC mark on the crank pulley to meet the pointer on the lower cover. If the timing is completely off... you are either clipped on the wrong spark plug wire OR your mechanical (timing belt) timing is wrong. I know you stated that it was perfect... but you may have to double check. Don't forget to short the SCS (service connector) to freeze the ignition timing while you adjust the distributor.
