I recently picked up a b16a Head & block.
My question is how do you tell the differences between heads?.
The original owner wasn't sure which head was mated to the block a 16A or 16A2?
Serial number possibly?
Thanks

i think theyre the same. only diff between the b16a and the a2 is the compression. other than that, heads are the same. head should prolly be marked pr3. i have an a2 in my garage and its marked pr3-2.

pr3-2.. its yep its marked on the Head.. a2 it is....
So I'm assuming the only benefits if any visually, is its a cleaner head and compression. When i removed the valve cover it looks minty FResh!
Thanks!

The only compression differences that I know of are between USDM and JDM b16 motors; 10.2 vs 10.4, respectively. The A2 was simply the OBD2 USDM motor.
