Compression of Type R head on B16?
My friend is putting a Type R head on his B16. He is using the stock pistons for now, has another block he will be rebuilding soon. Need to know what kind of compression he is looking at with this setup. Thinking that it will be close to that of a regular b16 head as they are the mostly the same. He is going to use a Mugen head gasket to try to raise it, but I am trying to find out for him before he does what it will end up as. TIA.
Oh, and I did a search, and this was one of the only combos I didn't see threads about.

it will be the same compression whether he kept a b16a head or went Type-R head. For the record, a 92+ B16A & Type-R head have the exact same combustion chamber areas. If you're friend went GSR head, then his compression ratio would go higher ....a thinner headgasket is recommended as well
Thanks guys, should have known, huh? My friend is actually happy, would have liked some extra compression, but was really doing this for the better head, cams, valvetrain, etc.
