Default Automatic Tuning solution.

Car is a 1995 Accord LX AUTOMATIC(This thread is not about persuading me to get a 5 speed, keep it out of here), F22B2 with 90k(rebuilt) on it. Will be running 8psi on a t3/t4, 440cc injectors, Walbro 255. I'm not at all interested in adjusting shift points, or anything regarding the transmission. After some research, I've discovered that most widely used tuneable OBD1 ecus are from civics which didn't use a separate TCM, but 94-95 integras did. I know I CAN use a P75, but should I? If I can still use a P06/P28 and they're more readily available, it'd probably be easier. Other than that, and emanage, etc, are there other options? Also, Does anyone have a basemap close to my specs that I can use? I checked xenocron bins but found nothing.

You can't use a P06 or P28, it has to be an ECU that will plug into the TCM of the transmission wont shift. As I recall accords have more than just the 2 lockup/shift solenoids on top of the transmission which is all a P06/P28 is setup for.

Thanks, I'll keep this in mind as I wrap up my build.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

Assuming I go the OBD1 P75 route, changing maps won't interfere with it's ability to communicate with the TCM right? Sorry for the noob questions but this isn't exactly a common thing and I'm trying to avoid as many headaches as I can.

Not sure, there really isn't much support for tuning with an automatic in a Honda, sorry it's just the way it is.

The ECU and TCU usually need to be compatible...the only setup I have done personally is a 94-95 Auto Integra.

I tuned one Automatic LS (stock P75 auto chipped on Crome) and one LS/VTEC (stock Auto P75, chipped and converted to VTEC, using eCtune) which seemed to work well.

The trans shifted differently but still shifted...never got a whole lot of feedback from either customer of the long term effects.

But the trick is to match the TCU and ECU. If you can somehow get an Integra TCU to work with the Accord Trans, it may work.

I'll have to see, from what I'm told/have read, it's just a few wires to swap and the P75 will plug right up, no CEL or anything. My buddy has a 95 auto Teg that he's not using, so first I'm gonna see if I can try the ecu out of it and see if I have any luck. If all goes well, and the car still moves - I was actually going to try to get in touch with you via the xenocron site and hopefully order an ECU. I hear good things about you guys.

No, chip the P06. P75 wont work due to transmission control differences. Those D-series automatic trannys don't hold up well to much power over stock though.

Yeah. Car is boosted now on 8psi. Ended up going with a chipped auto P75 from Xenocron. Thanks to Bird333 with his write up on it. I only had to swap a few wires, but I was already OBD1. No CEL, no D4 flashing, nothing. Runs and drives like stock out of boost.

Cool, thanks. Yeah I took a lot from his write up too, but I am obd2b and there are several sensors that are different. I am asking around if anyone could make a custom harness as I have very little electrical experience. Its not looking too promising though. Although I am pretty sure the back up plan of switching to and obd1 transmission could work.

If you need a custom harness made, shoot me and email and I will put you in touch with the proper party

Funny how the circle comes back around to me.

Thanks Chris.

Kevin, I replied to your email about your harness.

If you already have an OBD1 auto Accord, then the OBD1 auto prelude isn't too far off in terms of installing it. If you have an OBD2 setup, then it requires harness and ECU/TCU combo.

BV1 clear your inbox out so I can respond to your PM.

Kevin, I am going to work on it this weekend and I will get back to you.

Sick man, looking forward to it. I haven't got the manuals on the flash yet, or the etm out, this has been a hellish week.

@Aradin: hey I followed bird333's guide. My car runs but when I rev pass 4000 I get code 19 with tcu d4 code 14 FAS. How did you get yours to work? I am using a p30base with p75 tables.

Try using a P72 base. I had all kinds of weird problems when I used a P30 base.

I thought Bird333 said something about not using the civic ecus because they did cause problems?
