AEM EMS problems!
I'm in major need of help. I bought the 1050 for my integra like two years ago and never got a chance to use it (car got wrecked and sat until another one was bought). I installed it and uploaded a basemap to start the car when I first got it to make sure it works but that was it. Well now years later I started messing around with it again. It won't allow me to upload any startup calibration. When I go to the startup calibrations there aren't any available in the file to upload. I can re-open the startup calibration from when it was originally tried out but then it won't let me upload it. It keeps telling me that its "not a valid AEM ecu" and the type "version" isn't valid. I just want to get it installed and drivable so I can get it to the dyno so they don't charge me more time for installing it and all that. Any help is appreciated guys.
you are probally running a old version likev.94 or somthing they are up to i think 1.2 you have to upload the newest version .you can do so on aem website
I did download the newest version but still no luck. I'm gonna try some more when I get off work. I read disconnecting the battery and rehooking it up will work but who knows. I'll update
You need to download not only the newest software (AEM Pro, AEM Log that run on your computer) but the newest firmware that runs on the EMS itself. The software will have all the compatible base maps in it. It will also have instructions on how to update the firmware.
sounds like your not power cycling after a cal upload, ems is a computer, after any major changes it needs to be rebooted, no different than your home computer
I just unplugged the battery and plugged it back in and it worked fine. For some reason it still won't show me the start-up calibrations in the honda/acura file but if I go to the pull down at the bottom of the screen where you type in the file name it will allow me to reopen a 1050 base program and it works fine. It's just weird that all the start-up calibration folders are empty.
I've already done the fuel injectors and map sensor and throttle position sensor. Now I need to replace my starter so I can calibrate the crank sensor and do the timing sync. I wish I had somebody that is familiar with this come give me a hand so I can get a better understanding of everything, but I will continue to go step by step until I figure it out.
