Aem ems users and choice of wideband
Just trying to get a feel for what kind of widebands people are using in junction with the ems. Please post up opinions or personal testimonies. Or feel free to add other widebands you might be using, or any i might have forgot.

honestly IMHO , if i had the AEM EMS , i would deff go with the AEM wideband. its proven to work well with it and was designed for it. cant go wrong really.

Re: Aem ems users and choice of wideband (SiRkid)
If cost is important, then the AEM setup is a nice choice, it uses the cheaper Bosch sensor and the initial cost is far less. The all in one AEM gauge type setup is pretty nice, nicer than the larger and more complex FJO setup. I question its reliability though, the nice thing when trying to calibrate the FJO is that the LCD display will always be dead on regardless of poor grounds and whatnot while the ECU output can vary, so it gives a nice baseline for setting up the WBO2 within your standalone. One thing to consider is that the Bosch sensors don't last as long as the NTK sensors. The Bosch units are non-standard and are only sold through AEM, while the NTK sensor that the FJO uses can be purchased anywhere(provided you can find one in stock).

A - No! While sensors ARE readily available through our dealers, we use a standard NTK L1H1 sensor which is commonly available from your local Honda dealer (or source of your choosing) under the part# 36531-P07-003. Using a "non-FJO" sensor will NOT impact the accuracy of our controller.

The FJO is also incredibly durable and robust, far more so than the AEM. While it may not be important to you, its nice to spend some money on something that will last regardless of abuse. Check out this video of FJO WBO2 getting abused
I am very happy with my FJO unit, but honestly the lower cost of the AEM would have been very tempting had it been available when I bought my FJO setup. They should both serve you well, but the FJO is superior in many ways and the price difference can be easily justified IMHO.

I have the AEM Single Channel Wideband for my AEM EMS. Can't beat it for the price. and ofcourse it was made to work with the AEM EMS.

Thats a pretty cool vid, but it really only shows that the sensor is water proof I couldnt tell you how many times my downpipe completely filled with water and then froze
As far as the control box being ran over, which I assume could possibly happen since the FJO you can mount under the hood and if some moron doesnt mount it properly I guess it could fall out and get ran over, only to survive as the video shows BUT, on the other hand the AEM is self contained within the gauge so no need for mounting anything under the hood
Im not biased, we sell both. My civic has the AEM and our Supra has the FJO

Hehe, its the controller that is frozen, boiled, and run over by the truck... The O2 sensor is in the running truck in the background.
