Icon3 96 CIVIC PROBLEMS

Alright here´s the story, I bought my self a 1996 honda civic ex with a D16Y7 ENGINE, SINGLE VTEC TRANNY, D16Y8 wireing AND P2P ECU. The problem I have is that i cant take the car passed 5600 rpm and it starts to 2step. So what I did recently was buy an P2E ECU which is the ECU for the D16Y7. I put it in this morning and the car kept turning off. So what I did was adjust the idle and then it finally stayed on and idled. Now the problem I have is that when I rev the car it hesatates between 1200 RPM and 2k RPM, but can finally take it to 7k RPM when I rev it all the way like it is sepose to. So what I did is put in my p2p in and readjusted the idle and it ran perfect but I can not take it passed 5600 rpm so its the same as before. So what I want to know is do I have to adjust anything else so its can run normal, or what do I have to do?
I dont know if this is the same as b20vtec.com but please BUMP is you viewed. Hit me up if its a long process on aim VTEC EJ8 201

Heres an example of what it is doing.

i would say it has to do with the iat (iacv sensor is what i meant) sensor i think it is. You'll have to do research, but i know there are differences, between a three wire and a two wire one. I had to do some re wiring when changing computers in my car, and i had the same reving issue as you did when you put in the stock y7 computer. Not sure if this is your issue, but you might want to check into it, as i believe the y7 may be looking for a three wire iacv setup, which you have to move wires around in the harness.

You would have to switch some wiring at the ECU. You have almost a reverse mini me it sounds like. I had the Y7 and converted to a Vtec head Y8 with my Cx engine harness. Search for mini me D16Y7/Y8 and you will see that some wires need to be moved and you may have to convert from the IACV wiring. Hope this helps.

first thing's first, whats the CEL for?you're going to have issues with the IACV being that the y8 is a 2 wire and the y7 are 3 wire.

no. you need to get the plug and wire it in too. and then shift pins around on the harness. IMO, instead of hacking up a vtec harness, buy a dx harness and swap it out. ALSO, you didnt answer my question, whats the check Engine light for (CEL)?

i dont know what cel its throwing off except for the 02 sensor one and i am probly just goin to do a mini me swap because that sounds a little bit easier because there is a knock sensor connected and the wireing is there so might as well
